(Minghui.org) The Falun Dafa Club introduced Falun Dafa (also called Falun Gong) at the annual Splash fair, a student group recruitment fair at Boston University (BU) on September 10, 2017. Many freshmen had the opportunity to learn about this traditional cultivation practice and signed up for upcoming exercise classes.
Students at Boston University learn about Falun Dafa at Splash, the annual student group recruitment fair.
More than 400 booths were set up on the central lawn of the BU campus. Falun Dafa practitioners provided flyers in English and Chinese, Falun Dafa newsletters, and handmade paper lotus flowers. There was also a photo display about Falun Dafa around the world, including the persecution of the practice in China. Many students learned about the practice and signed up to attend the upcoming exercise classes on campus.
Freshmen from China were surprised to find Falun Dafa at BU. Due to the slanderous propaganda about Falun Dafa in China, this was the first time for many of them to hear the facts about Falun Dafa. They talked to practitioners to get their confusion cleared up. A Chinese student took three sets of introductory materials for his friends, and planned to learn more on the Internet.
A freshman from Taiwan was very happy to see Falun Dafa practitioners at the fair. He said he had heard about the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) persecution of innocent practitioners in China. He added, “You are the ones who follow Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance, and are truly good citizens. You are the only hope for our nation!”
An American student read the photo display and talked to a practitioner about the persecution in China. He said, “You believe in Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. You work to end the persecution peacefully and rationally, and don't give up. What you do represents nobleness and justice. You are truly marvelous!”
Many other American students expressed their support for Falun Dafa after they heard about the CCP's persecution of practitioners. Some of them took multiple copies of flyers to help spread the word. More than 40 students left their contact information, wanting to join the Falun Dafa Club and learn the practice.
