(Minghui.org) A married couple in East Ujimqin Banner, Inner Mongolia was sentenced to prison for refusing to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime. Both husband and wife received three years of prison terms.
Ms. Baoeerdengqiqige is now held at Hohhot Women’s Prison, while her husband, whose name remains to be investigated, is imprisoned at Hohhot Prison.
The couple, both ethnic Mongolians, was arrested in the first half of 2016. Police confiscated their printers, CD burners, and more than 100 copies of Falun Gong brochures from their home. The local court soon sentenced them to prison.
The couple’s daughter, who works in the southern Guangxi Autonomous Region, rushed back to her hometown to appeal on behalf of her parents. But the appeal was turned down.
The daughter is extremely worried about her parents’ well-being. Hohhot Women’s Prison is known for torturing imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners on a regular basis.
