(Minghui.org) A woman sentenced to prison for her faith remains detained even after the local prison declined to admit her due to her poor health.
Ms. Mou Lihua, 51, used to suffer from leukemia, but her symptoms disappeared in 2003 when she began to practice Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.
Having regained hope in life, Ms. Mou never shied away from sharing her miraculous recovery with people. She was arrested on August 24, 2016 while talking to people about Falun Gong.
Ms. Mou was humiliated and abused at Chaoyang Detention Center. The guards there once kept her stripped down to her underwear for four days in a room with surveillance cameras. She soon had a relapse of her leukemia, and her health has since been on the decline.
The local prison refused to accept Ms. Mou after she was sentenced to 5 years in prison on February 4, 2017. The detention center, though, has refused to release her or render her medical attention.
