(Minghui.org) A woman in Jing County is facing trial for refusing to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.
Ms. Bai Changge, in her 60s, became a target in late 2016 when officer Wang Xudong caught her carrying a bag containing calendars with Falun Gong messages. Wang confiscated the bag and let her go.
Wang came after Ms. Bai again a little over two months later. She had just left home on the morning of February 13, 2017, when several plainclothes officers stopped her. Without showing any ID or arrest warrant, they dragged her to their cruiser and drove her to Jing County Police Department.
They returned to ransack her home shortly afterward. Wang next went to Guangchuan Town Hospital and attempted, unsuccessfully, to get Ms. Bai’s husband, who was hospitalized there at the time, to sign some paperwork.
Wang proceeded to forward Ms. Bai’s case to the local procuratorate, which charged her with “using a cult to undermine law enforcement,” a standard pretext used by the Chinese communist regime in its attempt to frame and imprison Falun Gong practitioners.
The case is now resting with the local court.
Ms. Bai’s husband was traumatized by Wang’s visit to him in the hospital. The elderly man had chest pain and high blood pressure on top of his original symptoms. It took more than a week for his condition to stabilize.
