(Minghui.org) Ms. Liu Naifen and her daughter-in-law, Zhang Xiangrong, were illegally arrested by officer Xu from the Longhe Police Station for posting informational materials about Falun Gong on July 7, 2017.
Under a police directive, Chen Fuqiang, Party Secretary of Gaomeng Village, ransacked Ms. Liu's home without a warrant and confiscated Falun Gong books and informational materials.
At the police station, Ms. Zhang was interrogated and ordered to sign the investigation record, but she refused.
The police then tore up Falun Gong books in front of her. She could not bear to see the books being destroyed and reluctantly signed the document.
Ms. Zhang and her daughter-in-law were later transferred to the Langfang City Detention Center. Their family were only verbally notified of the transfer.
The attorney for both women tried to visit them on July 12, but was told he could not meet with them because he was not hired according to the law.
Ms. Liu Naifen, 76, and Ms. Zhang Xiangrong have been practicing Falun Gong for 20 years.
