Additional Persecution News from China – June 22, 2017 (21 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 14 provinces. According to this report, 4 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 24 were illegally arrested.

1. [Anlu City, Hubei Province] Mr. Jiang Hua's Whereabouts Unknown After His Arrest

Mr. Jiang Hua was arrested by officers from the Anlu City Domestic Security Division on May 25, 2017. The officers impounded his delivery vehicle, took 20,000 yuan in cash, and ransacked his home. After 15 days of detention, Mr. Jiang's family and friends went to pick him up. They were instead interrogated for three hours by Chen Xudong and other Domestic Security officers. Mr. Jiang's whereabouts are unknown.

2. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wei Chunrong Taken to Jinan Prison

Ms. Wei Chunrong from Huanan County, Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province, lives in Chengyang District, Qingdao City, Shandong Province. She was arrested on May 25, 2015, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was sentenced to two years in prison by the Chengyang District Court on January 23, 2017. She appealed, but the Qingdao City Intermediate Court upheld the original sentence. Her family was not notified until early June 2017 that she had been taken to the Jinan Prison on May 18, 2017.

3. [Ji'an City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Xia Zhaoxiu and Ms. Wu Tuanlian Detained

Ms. Xia Zhaoxiu and Ms. Wu Tuanlian were arrested on June 16, 2017. Both practitioners were held in a detention center.

4. [Lanzhou City, Gansu Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Wang Xiongzhen, Ms. Yuan Xiuying, and Ms. Liang from Qilihe District were reported for talking to people about Falun Gong on the streets on June 18, 2017. They were arrested and their homes ransacked. The three practitioners are being held in the Chengguan Detention Center.

5. [Laiyang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Cui Shiquan Detained

Mr. Cui Shiquan from Libaimiao Village, Tuanwang Town, was lured into returning home, where he was arrested by officers from the Jiangshan Town Domestic Security Division and the Police Department at noon on June 19, 2017. The officers confiscated Falun Gong books, over 10,000 yuan in cash, and currency bills with truth-clarification messages written on them. He is being held in the Laixi Detention Center.

6. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Guan Fengzhi Detained

Ms. Guan Fengzhi was arrested on the afternoon of June 20, 2017. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books. She is being held in the Jinzhou Detention Center.

7. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Xu Yamei Missing

Ms. Xu Yamei, 34, an accountant for a medical company in Kunming City, has been missing since the afternoon of June 17, 2017. People found out three days later, that her home had been ransacked, and her computer and Falun Gong books were gone. Only a printer was left at her home.

8. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liang Shufeng Detained

Ms. Liang Shufeng, 63, from Majiadian Town, Donggang City, was arrested by officers from the Helong Police Station on the morning of June 20, 2017, for talking to people about Falun Gong. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Gong books, Minghui Weekly, and photos of the founder of Falun Gong. She was taken to the Jixian Detention Center that afternoon.

9. [Bazhong City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Cheng Guoqun Detained

Ms. Cheng Guoqun was arrested by officers from the Bazhou District Domestic Security Division at noon on June 19, 2017. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated two photos of the founder of Falun Gong, several booklets of experience sharing materials, and music players. Ms. Cheng is being held in the Bazhong City Detention Center.

10. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Over 20 officers from the Taihe Domestic Security Division arrived in several police vehicles at Ms. Chen Zaihua's home on the evening of June 20, 2017. They used universal keys, and also tried to pry open the lock of her door. Ms. Chen, her husband Mr. Feng Shudong, and their non-practitioner son were arrested. Mr. Guo Liguang and Mr. Chen Guowen, who happened to be at their home, were also arrested. All three homes were ransacked that evening.

All five people were taken to the Nuerhe Police Station for interrogation in the early morning of June 21, 2017. They were taken away that afternoon. Their whereabouts are unknown.

11. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Tian Yuxiang Detained

Ms. Tian Yuxiang was arrested at home by three officers led by Pang Yanbin from the Xinzhan Police Station on the morning of June 5, 2017. She was taken to the Zhaoyuan County Police Department to fill out detention paperwork. She was then taken to the county detention center for 15 days of detention. She returned home on June 20.

12. [Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Wang Yurong Detained

Ms. Wang Yurong from Xiangfang District, Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province, was staying with her son in Hangzhou City. She was arrested by officers from the Wenyan Police Station, Xiaoshan District, Hangzhou City on June 19, 2017, for posting Falun Gong materials. She is being held in the Xiaoshan District Detention Center. Her son's home was ransacked. Her computer, and cell phones which she used for calling people and telling them about the persecution of Falun Gong, were confiscated.

13. [Liuyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Wu Wanmei and Ms. Liu Lixia Detained

Ms. Wu Wanmei and Ms. Liu Lixia were reported for talking to people about Falun Gong on the morning of June 20, 2017. They were arrested by officers from the Huaichuan Police Station. They are being held in the Liuyang City Detention Center for 15 days of detention.

14. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Dai Fengting Detained

Ms. Dai Fengting from Gao Village, Laishui County, was arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong. She is being held in the Fangshan District Detention Center, Beijing.

15. [Anping County, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Wenguo Arrested

Mr. Wang Wenguo, about 80, was arrested by officers from the Chengguan Town Police Station on May 20, 2017, for talking to people about Falun Gong. He was released that day.

He was arrested again for talking to people about Falun Gong on June 20, 2017.

16. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Zhang Jinfei Taken to Brainwashing Center

Mr. Zhang Jinfei, 49, from Taibei Road area, Jiang'an District, has been missing for several days. It was reported that he is being held in the Banqiao Brainwashing Center.

17. [Shihezi City, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region] About 28 Practitioners Held in Brainwashing Center

A brainwashing center was reopened in the Nongbashi Reclamation Area around May 2017. It is known that 28 practitioners have been held there, including Ms. Wang Runxiao and Ms. Liu Ping.

18. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wu Huan and Another Practitioner Arrested

Ms. Wu Huan and an 82-year-old practitioner were reported for talking to people about Falun Gong on the afternoon of June 20, 2017. They were arrested by officers from the Yihelu Police Station. The officers ransacked Ms. Wu's home and confiscated over 40 Falun Gong books plus some printed materials. Both practitioners then taken to the Changchun People's Hospital for physical examinations. The elderly practitioner was released. Ms. Wu was also released after a second round of checkups.

19. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Yan Shouli Detained

Mr. Yan Shouli from Kangping County was reported by students' parents for talking to the students about Falun Gong on the afternoon of June 20, 2017. He was arrested by officers from the Zhennan Police Station, Kangping County, and taken to the Faku County Detention Center.

20. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Ge Yingjie Detained

Ms. Ge Yingjie was followed and arrested when making truth-clarifying materials on the evening of June 16, 2017. She is being held in the Jinzhou City Detention Center.

21. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Kongfa Arrested

Mr. Li Kongfa was arrested at work by officers from the Gucheng Police Station on June 19, 2017.
