(Minghui.org) Ms. Li Xiancheng, 54, a Falun Gong practitioner from Fengjie County in Chongqing, was sentenced to five years in prison after being held in a detention center for nine months.
Domestic security police went to Ms. Li's home on October 10, 2016. They told her that they needed to search the residence because someone reported her. It was learned that someone who had been arrested said that they had received a book from Ms. Li's home.
The police seized her computer, printer and some Falun Gong books and informational materials as evidence. Under the communist regime’s persecution of the spiritual discipline, Falun Gong practitioners throughout China have been arrested and imprisoned for refusing to renounce their faith.
The prosecutor charged Ms. Li based on the quantity of Falun Gong materials confiscated from her home. She was tried by Fengjie County Court on April 18, 2017. Her lawyer entered a not guilty plea. The court later sentenced her to five years in prison on June 27.
Ms. Li is suffering from a contagious skin disease, and her family is concerned about her health.
