(Minghui.org) A teacher in Fushun City remains detained for his faith, and his wife is calling for his release.
Mr. Li Juntian was teaching at Yucai Middle School on May 13, 2017 when police came to take him into custody. Less than one hour later, his wife, Ms. Han Xiulian, was arrested at home. The police dragged her by her hair, all the way from her fifth-floor apartment unit to the police car. She lost a big chunk of hair in the process.
Mr. Li and Ms. Han were targeted because they refuse to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.
While Ms. Han was released later that day, her husband remains at Heping District Detention Center. Her request for his release has been denied.
This is not the first time that Ms. Li has been targeted for his faith. He was once given forced labor and denied pay raise by his former employer. His first wife divorced him under the pressure of the persecution, and he struggled to raise their son by himself.
His life turned around after he was later transferred to his current school and met Ms. Han, who was suffering from cancer at the time. Ms. Li introduced her to Falun Gong, and she soon became illness-free.
The two married, but their happy life was soon shattered by the latest arrest.
