(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 6 provinces. According to this report, 5 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 24 were illegally arrested.

1. [Tianjin] Four Practitioners Arrested

Jinnan District police officers ransacked the home of Mr. Huang Youming and his wife Ms. Zhang Fengxia on April 26, 2017. They confiscated all Falun Gong books. The couple was arrested by officers staked out near their home after they went out. Officers took Mr. Huang home that evening to ransack his home again. They confiscated a cell phone. Mr. Huang was released on the evening of April 28 due to high blood pressure. Ms. Zhang was taken to the Heiniucheng Detention Center, Hexi District.

Ms. Zhou Xiulan and Ms. Qin Fengmei were also arrested by officers staked out near their home on April 27, 2017. They are held in a detention center.

2. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Han Hongzao, 70, and three other practitioners were arrested on the morning of May 6, 2017. Officers ransacked Mr. Han's home and confiscated close to 100 copies of Falun Gong books, some DVDs, and the recent edition of Minghui Weekly.

3. [Laishui County, Hebei Province] Ms. Wei Lifen Detained

Ms. Wei Lifen from Wanggezhuang Village, Songgezhaung Township was arrested by officers from the Fangshan District Police Department on the morning of May 7, 2017 for distributing Falun Gong materials in the streets of Zhangfang Town, Fangshan District, Beijing. She is held in the Fangshan District Detention Center.

4. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Liu Zhanyou's Whereabouts Unknown

Mr. Liu Zhanyou from Hou Town was arrested at home by officers from the Shouguang City Domestic Security Division at noon on May 9, 2017. His whereabouts are unknown.

5. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Qu Suying Detained

Ms. Qu Suying, in her mid-fifties, from Xijianyang Village, Wangjing Town, Tang County, was reported for talking to people about Falun Gong on the morning of May 8, 2017. She was arrested and her home ransacked by officers from the Wangjing Town Police Station. Two copies of Falun Gong books were confiscated. She was taken to the Tang County Police Department that afternoon and then transferred to the Tang County Detention Center.

6. [Shanghai] Mr. Hong Tingsheng Detained

Mr. Hong Tingsheng, 36, from Yangpu District was arrested at home by officers from the Yangpu District Police Department late at night on May 3, 2017. He was taken to the Yangpu District Detention Center.

7. [Foshan City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Deng Meizhen Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Deng Meizhen, about 75, has been missing for nearly one month.

8. [Foshan City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Feng Juan Arrested

Ms. Feng Juan, in her 70s, from Chancheng District, was arrested on April 29, 2017 for distributing Falun Gong materials. On the same day, several officers from the 610 Office and the police station handcuffed her, took her to her home, and ransacked the place. They confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Gong pictures, an MP4, all her Falun Gong books, as well as other materials.

9. [Anda City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhai Yali and Ms. Peng Shufen Detained

Ms. Zhai Yali and Ms. Peng Shufen were arrested by officers from the Chaoyang Police Station on May 4, 2017. They were taken to the Anda Detention Center that evening for 10 days of detention.

10. [Foshan City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Liang Yixia and Husband Mr. Liang Yongkai Detained

Ms. Liang Yixia and her non-practitioner husband Mr. Liang Yongkai from Xiqiao Town, Nanhai District, were followed and arrested by plainclothes officers on May 1, 2017 for distributing Falun Gong materials in Gaoming District. They are held in the Gaoming Detention Center.

11. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Peizhi Taken to Jinan Women's Prison

Ms. Liu Peizhi was sentenced to two years in prison and fined 5,000 yuan by the Wulian County Court on July 12, 2016. She appealed to the Rizhao Intermediate Court. The intermediate court recently upheld the original verdict. Ms. Liu was taken to the Jinan Women's Prison on May 9, 2017.

12. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Xu Wenhuan (82 years old), Mr. Li Yi (65 years old), and Ms. Zhang Mei (51 years old) were arrested by officers from the Shamian Police Station, Liwan District, on May 6, 2017 for talking to people about Falun Gong.

13. [Tianjin] Ms. Liu Shuzhen Detained

Ms. Liu Shuzhen, 70, from Binhai New Area, Tanggu District, was arrested on June 7, 2016. Her home was ransacked and her computer, printer, and Falun Gong materials were confiscated. She was taken to the Wuqing District Detention Center that night. She developed high blood pressure and was released 22 days later, after paying 5,000 yuan bail.

Ms. Liu was arrested again at home by four people from the Binhai Procuratorate, the Court, and the Xinbei Police Station at noon on May 5, 2017. She was taken to the Wuqing Detention Center.

14. [Linqing City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Bangchen Arrested

Mr. Li Bangchen was arrested and taken to the Kangzhuang Police Station on the evening of May 9, 2017.

15. [Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Sun Yuhong Arrested and Ms. Yang Junyan Escaped

Officers from the Hengdaohe Town Police Station, Dongfeng County, broke into Ms. Sun Yuhong's home and arrested her on May 9, 2017. Subsequently, they went to Ms. Yang Junyan's home, but no one was at home. After Ms. Yang returned home, the officers again attempted to arrest her. She escaped and went into hiding.

16. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Han Guirong Arrested

Ms. Han Guirong was arrested at her home by Huang Xiaoming and four plainclothes officers from the Huizhan Police Department at noon on April 26, 2017. She was pushed into a police car. At the time, she suffered heart disease symptoms: she had no strength over her entire body, her chest felt tight, and she kept trembling. She was taken to a detention center. The detention center refused to admit her for high blood pressure and arrhythmia. She was taken home that evening.

17. [Tai'an City, Shandong Province] Ms. Tian Wenli Arrested

Ms. Tian Wenli was arrested by officers from the Manzhuang Town Police Station, Daiyue District, on May 10, 2017. The officers handcuffed her, took her to her home, and ransacked the place. They confiscated Falun Gong books.

Six officers from the Hanting Domestic Security Division and the Gaoli Police Station went to Mr. Yu Jixian's home in Sunjia Village, Shuangyang Town, and ransacked it on the morning of May 9, 2017. They confiscated several Falun Gong books.
