(Minghui.org) The 610 Office, the Domestic Security Division, the Procuratorate, and the court are jointly responsible for two Falun Gong practitioners being sentenced in Linmu County, Shandong Province. They were each sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison, and fined 20,000 yuan.
Ms. Wang Songyan and Ms. Chen Suxia put up a poster in Linmu County that called for suing Jiang Zemin, the former head of the communist regime. Li Fangchun, a 610 Office agent, and domestic security agents arrested them and took them to the Linmu County Detention Center.
Li told Ms. Chen's family that she might be sentenced to prison because her parents family had hired a lawyer for her. This caused conflict between her in-laws and her parents, which led to the dismissal of the lawyer. The lawyer had met Ms. Chen only once.
Li also said that the two practitioners would not be released, even though other Falun Gong practitioners made phone calls and put up posters to rescue them. The two practitioners' families became upset with the practitioners involved in these efforts. The family felt they had to follow the instructions of the 610 Office to get the practitioners released. They hired lawyers that were approved by the 610 Office.
Li got the two practitioners to provide statements that favored his agenda. They were tried in February 2017 and were each sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison in late March.
Both practitioners have appealed. They are being held in Linyi Detention Center.
