(Minghui.org) Ahead of the 19th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), police departments in Liaoning Province were ordered to gather information about Falun Gong practitioners. Officers assigned to carry out the orders claimed that it was only a formality.
Practitioners in China and around the world continue to tell people about the persecution of Falun Gong, and many police in China have come to understand the facts about Falun Gong. They often said that they felt disgusted when directed by their superiors to participate in persecuting practitioners.
Beisiping County Police
Four officers from Beisiping County Police Station, as well as one person from the village committee, went to Ms. Liu Fengmei's home on the morning of March 24, 2017. They asked her and her husband whether they were still practicing Falun Gong. They also wanted them to sign some documents and give blood samples. Ms. Liu refused to cooperate.
The police said that they were on assignment from their superiors. They looked around the home and confiscated a calendar, pendant, and sticker that had information about Falun Gong on them, as well as pictures of the three Chinese characters, “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.”
The officers then went to Mr. Wang Hongxiang's home. Mr. Wang was not there, but his wife, Ms. Wang Xilan. and their daughter and son-in-law were in the yard. The police asked them if they were still practicing Falun Gong. Ms. Wang said “Yes,” and they left without further ado.
Then, they went to Mr. Liu Chunxiang and his wife's home. The officers and village personnel asked the elderly couple if they still practiced Falun Gong. They wanted the couple to sign documents and take some blood samples, but the couple did not cooperate with the officers. The officers took pictures of the room and the yard before leaving.
Yongling Police
Officers from Yongling Town Police Station, Xinbin County went to some practitioners' homes on March 28, as well as practitioners' workplaces in Taibao, Jiahe, and Yongling Middle School.
On March 29, they went with village and community officials to practitioners' homes in Dahemu, Zhennei, Houbu, Laocheng, Erdao, and Xibu. When they asked the practitioners whether they still practiced Falun Gong, most answered “yes” and then talked to the officers about Falun Gong.
Some officers asked to take the practitioners' blood samples or get their fingerprints, but the practitioners did not allow them. Some officers took videos inside the practitioners' homes and said that it was to show their superiors that they had done their job.
Officers made various comments, such as:
“If you think Falun Gong is good, then just practice at home and don't go out to hand out materials.”
“Don't be afraid, we are just here because we were assigned by our superiors. It's only a formality.”
Some officers saw a portrait of Master Li Hongzhi (the founder of Falun Gong) on the wall and did not say anything.
When practitioners were not at home, the police asked their family members to sign their documents. The family members did not comply.
Yushu Township Police
Several officers from Yushu Township Police Station went to practitioners' homes on March 28 and asked whether they were still practicing Falun Gong.
Some practitioners said “yes” and talked to them about their faith as well as the curative effect and other extraordinary experiences they have received from the practice. The police said that their visit was only a formality and ordered by their superiors.
At one home, several officers saw the practitioner's child sleeping in the practitioner's arms. They stood around briefly and then left.
