(Minghui.org) Ms. Zhang Qiaozhen, in her 70s, is a practitioner of Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime. As no law in China criminalizes Falun Gong, Ms. Zhang uses every opportunity to tell people about the illegal persecution.
The elderly woman went to a local street committee office on May 17, 2017. She talked to the security guard there about Falun Gong before she left, but the guard reported her to Jiang Dongtao, head of the local 610 Office.
Jiang knew Ms. Zhang from a previous encounter, when she was reported for promoting Falun Gong. As soon as he saw her, he searched her bag and confiscated her Falun Gong materials. He also threatened her, “I’ll kill you if I catch you talking to people about Falun Gong again!”
Jiang then drove Ms. Zhang to the local police station. During the interrogation, Ms. Zhang explained why she worked hard to expose the persecution and urged the police to stop persecuting Falun Gong practitioners.
She refused to sign the interrogation record and was released a few hours later.
