(Minghui.org) The persecution of Falun Gong has resulted in karmic retribution for many people who have participated. Many of those in law enforcement and the judiciary have been used by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to unlawfully persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Their actions have brought disaster to themselves and their families.
However, some people in these areas of work oppose the persecution after learning the facts about Falun Gong and have helped practitioners any way they can.
I practice Falun Gong and was taken to a detention center by the local police because of my belief.
I have never been exposed to such a scary environment as the detention center. A few criminal suspects were taken to the detention center at around the same time as me. A guard on duty started to allocate cells to us newcomers. Suddenly, I was pulled aside and told, “You wait here.”
What was he going to do with me? After a while, he said, “I know you are a good person, so I will make a special arrangement for you. There is a cell where it will be relatively easier for you. You can stay there.”
I later learned that the cell he was referring to was usually allocated to people of a higher social status. Anyone who stayed in there would have to pay a considerable amount of money to the detention center directors, but I didn't have to. These sorts of bribes are an important source of income for detention center personnel.
Another guard in the detention center was a good and honest person. It wasn't until my second day in the center that this guard realized that there were several Falun Gong practitioners among the newcomers.
According to detention center rules, practitioners should be dealt with more strictly than the criminals, but this guard was very kind to practitioners. Although detainees were not allowed to talk to each other or share food or snacks, this guard passed food and snacks to us and did not stop us from talking amongst ourselves.
He took me to his office once and offered me a cup of tea. Then he asked me about Falun Gong, why the CCP persecutes us and why practitioners refuse to give up their belief. I told him all about Falun Gong and answered all of his questions.
Guards at the detention center had to personally keep an eye on things instead of using surveillance cameras. When I wanted to go for a walk in the yard, I had to ask the guard on duty. Some of them allowed me to leave my cell and even chatted with me.
A guard who had retired from the military enjoyed talking to me. He would let me out of the cell when he was on the night shift, and sometimes he brought food from home to share with me. When I wanted to visit other practitioners, I would walk out of the cell and speak to them and encourage them to support each other. He never interfered with me.
These guards treated me very nicely, not because I offered them any gifts or bribes. It was because human justice, kindness and a bit of Buddha nature still existed in their hearts, and they were naturally able to resist the old forces and treat me well.
These people have all benefited from their kindness to Falun Gong practitioners.
