(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 3 provinces. According to this report, 9 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 11 were illegally arrested.
Ms. Yu Xueqin and Mr. Guo Xiangrong were arrested on March 25, 2017, and are being held in the Henan Police Station.

Ms. Teng Kemei and Ms. Guo Yuping were arrested on May 13, 2016, by officer Guan Qingyou and others from the Wangqing Domestic Security Division. Ms. Teng was secretly sentenced to three years and is being held at the Yanji City Detention Center.
Ms. Wei Chunrong was sentenced to a two-year prison term by the Chengyang District Court. The Qingdao Middle Court denied her appeal.
Ms. Li Xiuling was harassed by agents from the 610 Office in July 2015, for suing former CCP leader Jiang Zemin. The agents threatened to lock her in a brainwashing center. Ms. Li suffered a relapse of her diseases. She died at age 56 on the morning of February 19, 2017.
Mr. Yang Daowen was arrested in September 2015 and held at the Linxiang City Detention Center, for suing former CCP leader Jiang Zemin. He was tried twice and sentenced to a three-year prison term. The Yueyang City Middle Court rejected his appeal. He was admitted to Wangling Prison in You County on March 16, 2017.
Ms. Wu Xiaoyun, Ms. Fang Xinzhi, Ms. Zeng Mingqing, Mr. Liu Dongxian, and Ms. Liu Lihui were arrested between December 1, 2016 and January 11, 2017. Ms. Wu and Mr. Liu are being held at the Baiheshan No. 1 Detention Center in Changde City. The others were released.
Ms. Shang Chun was transferred to Liaoning Women's Prison from the Yingkou Detention Center on February 14, 2017. Mr. Sun Shenghua was admitted to Masanjia Prison in mid-March 2017.
Ms. Yang Liying was arrested at her dormitory at the Weihe Power Plant at noon on March 22, 2017.
Ms. Song Xianlan was arrested on the afternoon of March 21, 2017. Her home was ransacked.
An imprisoned Taiyuan resident told his family that he had twice been beaten since his prison admission in February 2017.
Mr. Li Xifu reported the beatings but no one listened to him. His family is concerned about his wellbeing.
Mr. Li was arrested on November 18, 2015, for filing a criminal complaint against former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin for ordering the persecution of Falun Gong. He was sentenced to a three-year prison term on August 31, 2016. His appeal is still pending.
Mr. Lu Shunmin, 68, has been moved to Xinmi Prison following his arrest on August 1, 2016 for refusing to renounce Falun Gong.
The exact prison sentence given to Mr. Lu remains to be investigated.
Mr. Lu's latest imprisonment follows two earlier prison sentences for his faith. He was sentenced to an 8-year term in 2002 and a 4-year term in 2011.
Ms. Zhang Haixia has lost more than a third of her body weight and suffered a mental collapse as a result of being tortured while serving time at Heilongjiang Women's Prison.
Ms. Zhang, who worked at the Jiamusi Second Textile Factory, was sentenced to prison for refusing to renounce Falun Gong. The prison guards often fed her unknown pills that damaged her central nervous system. She exhibited abnormal behavior soon after the pills were administered. She often picked up soiled toilet paper and dirty rags and stuffed them under her bed. She also had trouble taking care of herself.
Her cellmates took advantage of her mental state and often used her deposit card to buy items for themselves.
The guards also beat her on a regular basis, and her entire body was covered in bruises.
Mr. Xie Junxiao was arrested on March 19, 2017, for refusing to renounce Falun Gong. Three days later he was moved to Jidong Prison, where he was once incarcerated and tortured to the point of near-death.
Mr. Xie's previous imprisonment followed his arrest on April 15, 2002. He was soon sentenced to six years and transferred to the Jidong Prison on January 16, 2003. The guards tortured him so badly that the doctors declared Mr. Xie had only 15 more days to live. The prison released him on medical parole in September 2003.
The prison sent people to check on Mr. Xie in June 2004, and decided to extend his medical parole for one more year. But the prison representatives returned the next day and took Mr. Xie back into custody, citing orders from the local 610 Office. Mr. Xie's wife died of a heart attack one month later.
