(Minghui.org) An appeals court in Xinjiang Autonomous Region issued a decision to overturn the guilty verdict against a local woman sentenced for refusing to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.
Ms. Li Heping, a Fukang City resident, was arrested on November 26, 2015, and sentenced to 3 years in prison on December 15, 2016, after two hearings. The Changji Intermediate Court returned the case to the lower court in mid-March 2017.
While awaiting her retrial, Ms. Li, 63, is suffering from a declining health. She has lost more than 20 pounds since her arrest.
