(Minghui.org) Students at Messiah College, a 108-year-old private liberal arts college in Mechanicsburg, PA, learned about Falun Gong, an ancient Chinese cultivation practice, and tried out the meditative exercises.
Dr. Sharon Putt, a professor of theology and religion, invited local Falun Gong practitioners to give a workshop in her class on March 28.
As Dr. Putt, her colleague Dr. Skinner, and students learned the five sets of Falun Gong exercises, some commented that they felt a strong energy flow.
The presentation went on to discuss the persecution of Falun Gong in China.
After showing a brief documentary about the persecution, two practitioners gave talks on their experiences in China.
A practitioner from China, Lisa, talked about how Falun Gong healed her of Myasthenia Gravis, which had tortured her for over 20 years. However, two years ago, before she escaped to the U.S., the authorities found that she was practicing Falun Gong, so they put her in a detention center for a few months, and searched her home. Another practitioner, Serena, talked about her family's ordeal. Her mother was arrested six times for practicing Falun Gong.
At the end of the workshop, practitioners talked about the organ harvesting atrocities against Falun Gong prisoners of conscience, which has been systematically carried out by the Chinese government for sale in the transplant tourism industry. They told the class that a resolution (R-27) has been proposed to the state assembly of Pennsylvania to condemn this crime.
Attendees sign a petition to condemn China's state-sanctioned organ harvesting crimes.
Dr. Putt thanked the practitioners for giving an informative and meaningful presentation.
