1. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Niu Yuhui Suffers Retinal Detachment in Detention

Ms. Niu Yuhui from Shulan City was arrested by officers from the Shulan City Domestic Security Division and the Nancheng Police Station on October 13, 2016. She was taken to the Jilin City Detention Center. She suffered retinal detachment in one of her eyes and her vision is now greatly impaired.

Ms. Niu went on a protest hunger strike before Chinese New Year's Day (January 28, 2017). She is currently very weak and her life is in danger.

Mr. Ruan Xianchou from Taishan City was arrested on December 9, 2015. He was tried at the Taishan City Court on January 24, 2017 and was sentenced to five years in prison.

3. [Dongguan City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Hu Shunhua Taken to Brainwashing Center

Mr. Hu Shunhua from Mayong Town was arrested and taken to the Dongguan City No. 2 Detention Center on January 22, 2017. He was taken to the Sanshui Brainwashing Center around February 20, 2017.

Mr. Wang Shifan was reported for talking to people about Falun Gong on February 15, 2017. He was arrested by officers from the 110 Response Unit. He has since returned home.

5. [Wuchang City, Hubei Province] Mr. Zhang Xirong Taken to Brainwashing Center

Mr. Zhang Xirong was arrested on February 21, 2017 for distributing Falun Gong materials. He was taken to the Yangyuan Brainwashing Center.

6. [Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Pu Rumei Taken to Prison

Ms. Pu Rumei from Henglin Town, the Economic and Technological Development Zone, was sentenced to two years in prison by the Economic and Technological Development Zone Procuratorate on December 29, 2016. She is held in the Changzhou Prison.

7. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Elderly Mr. Zhou Xikun Detained

Mr. Zhou Xikun, in his 70s, was arrested by officers from the Zhuodaoquan Police Station, Hongshan District on December 20, 2016. His home was ransacked. He was held in a detention center. Mr. Zhou suffers frequent angina attacks in the detention center. The detention center officials have refused to let him go home. They even threatened his family, saying that Mr. Zhou would be sentenced to prison.

8. [Chongqing] Mr. Xiang Chengrong Arrested

Mr. Xiang Chengrong from Changshou District was arrested on February 23, 2017. He was held in custody for 23 hours.

9. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Jia Guilan Arrested

Elderly Ms. Jia Guilan was recently arrested by officers from the Beidajie Police Station.

10. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Xi Chongdi Detained

Mr. Xi Chongdi was arrested at home by officers from the Lin'an Domestic Security Division, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, on January 14, 2017. His home was ransacked. He is held in the Lin'an City Detention Center.
