(Minghui.org) I was introverted, oversensitive, timid, and inarticulate since I was a child. I would evade people if at all possible. My shyness stopped me from clarifying the facts about Falun Gong. I decided to make a complete change and improve my ability to raise awareness about Falun Gong face to face.
I decided to to talk about the persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to my acquaintances. I decided to start with some former neighbors, and I prepared for a week regarding how to talk to them. I then visited them and brought along some Falun Gong informational materials and brochures.
My mind played games with me while on my way to these neighbors. I wondered if they would believe me, and I debated about turning around and returning home. This thought became stronger as I approached their home.
I was clear in my mind, however, that I could not give up, as I had prepared myself for a week. I continued moving forward, but I felt it would be hard for me speak while facing such indecision. I thought of Master at that moment and kept on biking towards my destination.
I arrived and entered their home. Without much difficulty, I talked with them and advised them to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations. The whole family renounced the Party.
I was startled afterwards. Why was I so successful? I made a breakthrough and had let go of my shyness. From then on, I was able to talk to strangers.
I studied the Fa in the morning and went out to raise awareness about Falun Gong in the afternoon. I still had some difficulties when meeting strangers face to face and talking to them. The first few days were very difficult. Nevertheless, I went out every day.
One day I saw a man who appeared to be simple, and I decided to talk to him. I followed him for over three miles, but I could not think of what to say to him. I became anxious and helpless.
One day I sat in a park and saw two students. I talked to them and advised them to quit their memberships in the CCP Young Pioneers. They accepted my fliers and bowed to me, “Thank you. Granny.” I was touched.
It was hard for me to take the first steps. But my successes have encouraged me a lot and increased my confidence in overcoming my introverted personality. With the help of fellow practitioners, I can now raise awareness of Falun Gong.
