(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 12 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 4 were illegally arrested.

1. [Haixi Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province] Ms. Li Junqing Detained

Ms. Li Junqing, a teacher at the Lenghu Administrative Committee Middle School, was arrested on the evening of December 22, 2016 for suing Jiang Zemin, the former head of the communist regime, who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong. She is being held in the Golmud City Detention Center.

2. [Baicheng City, Jilin Province] Mr. Li Wei Detained

Mr. Li Wei was arrested and taken to the Da'an Detention Center on the afternoon of February 7, 2017.

3. [Xinyi City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Xu Chengyu and Mr. Zhang Jie Arrested

Ms. Xu Chengyu and Mr. Zhang Jie were arrested by officers from the Qipanshan Town Police Station on November 7, 2016, for talking to people about Falun Gong and distributing materials about Falun Gong. They were held in custody until 9:00 p.m. Four or five officers ransacked their homes, and confiscated over 100 Falun Gong brochures from Ms. Xu's home. A computer and printer were confiscated from Mr. Zhang's home.

Ms. Xu was released on bail. Mr. Zhang was taken to the Xinyi City Detention Center.

4. [Longhua County, Hebei Province] Five Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Yu Fengyun was sentenced to four years in prison in May 2016, for suing Jiang Zemin. She is being held in the Shijiazhuang Women's Prison.

Ms. Liu Guoxia, from Hanmaying Town, was sentenced to five years in prison in October 2016.

Mr. Liu Guohai, Mr. Li Hongwen, and Mr. Xu Guangdong were each sentenced to four years in prison.

5. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Fu Zhulian Detained

Ms. Fu Zhulian, 63, was arrested on January 2, 2017. Her home was ransacked that evening. She was released ten days later. Plainclothes officers frequently come to her home to harass her.

6. [Xiangtan City, Hunan Province] Ms. Guo Mingqing Transferred to Changsha Women's Prison

Ms. Guo Mingqing was arrested in March 2016 for talking to people about Falun Gong in the Yuetang District. She was held in the Xiangtan City Detention Center, and tried by the Yuetang District Court in June 2016. She was sentenced to a two-year prison term in August.

Ms. Guo was transferred from the detention center to the Changsha Women's Prison on December 14, 2016.

7. [Gaizhou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Han Guohai and Ms. Sun Yubin Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Han Guohai was sentenced to a five-year prison term in January 2017. Ms. Sun Yubin was sentenced to a four-year prison term by the Gaizhou City Court.

8. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Sun Yong Sentenced to a Seven-Year Prison Term

Mr. Sun Yong and his daughter Ms. Sun Guangpu were arrested by officers from the Changchun City Domestic Security Division on March 9, 2016. They were officially placed under arrest on April 13, 2016. It was reported that Mr. Sun was sentenced to a seven-year prison term.

9. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Feng Qifeng Forcibly Drugged

Ms. Feng Qifeng, about 50, was summoned by the 610 Office and the court on January 20, 2017, and was arrested on the spot. She was taken to the Jinshan Hospital, where she was forcibly given drugs. She is being held in the Dabailou Detention Center.

10. [Chongqing] Mr. Zhang Xiaobo and Wife Ms. Chen Yu Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Zhang Xiaobo (in his forties) and his wife Ms. Chen Yu, from the No. 4 Team, Gaotan Village, Fuhuan Town, Qijiang District, were arrested at home by Xie Guangfu and several other local police officers on March 8, 2016, for suing Jiang Zemin. The officers ransacked their home and confiscated all of their Falun Gong books and materials. Mr. Zhang was taken to the Qijiang Detention Center and held there for ten months. He was also extorted of 5,000 yuan during his detention.

The couple was tried on August 30, 2016, and tried again on December 9. Mr. Zhang was sentenced to two years in prison. He was taken to the Fengcheng Prison in Changshou District on January 5, 2017. Ms. Chen was sentenced one year and a half in prison with two years of probation.
