(Minghui.org) The “door-knocking campaign” that is being conducted by police in many provinces and cities across China has scared some practitioners. They worry that a new round of persecution is beginning.
Some practitioners hid, some shut down their materials production sites, and some told police that they no longer cultivated. The reason for this was that these practitioners had not studied the Fa well, and were not able to elevate their understanding.
Teacher said:
“Certain cultivators who have grasped Dafa to different degrees are showing different degrees of steadfastness, and how they currently perceive the overall situation of the Fa-rectification is different, too. The different states of their cultivation result in their different perceptions. Some might think the situation is grim; for some people the situation might seem to have already eased up; and some people might think that it's precisely a great opportunity to save sentient beings and clarify the truth. People's different grasps of and comprehension of the Fa lead to different perceptions of the current situation, and all that's happening is targeting different human thoughts. Those who do well will change the environments around them, and those who do poorly will make the environments around them change according to their states of mind.” ( “Teaching the Fa at the Washington, D.C. Fa Conference, 2002,” from Teaching the Fa at the Conference II)
Based on my current cultivation level, I believe that given that the Fa-rectification has proceeded to this stage, the “door-knocking campaign” is actually geared toward every practitioners' cultivation state, although this campaign might appear to be incidental.
In our area, some practitioners have done very well. They have endured the harassment with dignity, and even managed to win respect from the police. They did not yield a bit in spite of the severe persecution.
One 70-year-old local practitioner, who was a former school teacher, has been targeted by the police since 1999. She was taken to the brainwashing center from time to time, but she was not affected. However, her family members were scared.
“Don't be afraid,” she told them. “If you are afraid that you might be harmed by implication, I will leave. I don't mind losing everything. I will continue with my cultivation no matter what. I would even sleep under a bridge.”
The family did not want her to leave, resisted the police when they came to arrest or harass her, and she was not arrested or harassed. During the most recent “door-knocking” activity, the police brought her some food. They wanted to make sure that she was okay. They did not mention Falun Gong.
Another practitioner, a college teacher, had suffered persecution and stopped cultivating, but began cultivating again and was very diligent. The police found her through the security office of her school, and asked her if she needed any help. They told her that Falun Gong was being more and more tolerated by the government, and they encouraged her to persevere.
One practitioner used to do well in her cultivation. But one day a relative from his hometown called and told him that the police had come looking for him. He thus became very nervous, and went into hiding. His attendance at group Fa study and other Falun Gong activities was impacted. Through subsequent sharing with fellow practitioners and studying the Fa, he strengthened his righteous thoughts, and the police stopped harassing him.
As a matter of fact, the door-knocking campaign affects each practitioner based on their cultivation state. Nothing regarding a practitioner is incidental.
The less a practitioner worries, and the more he or she takes things in stride, the better they can tell visitors about Falun Gong. However, the more one is afraid, the easier it is to get into trouble. I enlightened that the evil will perish if we just let go of our fear and attachments. Our reactions will govern the outcome of this latest campaign.
