Depending on Ordinary People Is a Strong Attachment

(Minghui.org) Depending on ordinary people for bringing an end to the persecution of Falun Dafa is an attachment.

Master said,

“A little while back a lot of students were thinking: "The CCP is going to hold its 16th Congress soon. If that head demon in China, that wretch of the earth, steps down, then won't our Dafa's good name be restored? Who'd want to inherit that burden, and who'd be as stupid as it is?" That kind of thinking isn't wrong in the ordinary society, but it's not right for a cultivator. With a Dafa like this, how could so many magnificent future Gods, magnificent Dafa disciples, who've been forged through Dafa cultivation put their hope in some ordinary person? Aren't we insulting ourselves? Could human beings control Gods? But a lot of our Dafa disciples were thinking that way. It's not a big deal if one person thinks that way, and it's not a big deal if two people think that way--that's just their personal cultivation issue. But if everybody thinks that way, then what kind of situation will there be among the larger group of Dafa disciples? Awakened by Master's Words

While studying “Teaching the Fa at 2002 Fa Conference in Philadelphia,” Master's words awakened me. I realized that I also had the wishful thinking of depending on the current Chinese ruler, although it was not very obvious.

Remembering the time period when the Party had its 19th Congress [October 2017], I had read many comments about the conference online, discussed with family members the fight for grabbing and/or holding on to power, behavior of the current ruler, and expectations about the possible changes.

Indeed, the current head of the Party had put into effect things that were favorable towards practitioners, such as sentencing many corrupt officials to jail, abolishing the forced labor system, and modifying the law to allow people to complain about corrupt government officials. This enabled thousands of practitioners to file complaints against Jiang Zemin, former head of the CCP.

Nevertheless, many unfavorable things happened during that time, but I just regarded them as counterattacks by Jiang supporters.

Comments from a few well-known persons in China and abroad that predicted that the current ruler would arrest Jiang Zemin and Zeng Qinghong prior to the Party Congress sounded reasonable in my mind. I thought that these predictions and wishful thinking was the best way out of the predicament for these officials.

However, my thoughts were full of human notions and were not based on the Fa.

Attachment of Depending on Ordinary People

Master said,

“Since you're Dafa disciples, you shouldn't put your hopes in so-called "natural" changes, external changes, changes in the ordinary society, or in some favors that someone might do for us. You are Gods, and you are the future rulers of different cosmoses, so who would you count on? I asked myself: Although I have read Master's Fa numerous times, why do I still have a strong attachment of depending on ordinary people? Looking inward, based on the Fa, I found some wrong thinking.

First, I mistook an ordinary person's action as his own behavior.

Master said,

“We cultivators all know that there are actually connections between a person's mind and factors in a lot of different dimensions, and when it comes to major things, man is just doing things under the control of other beings. He's just acting things out here in the human world, that's all. Master is telling us that ordinary people are no more than tools of the gods. Their own will is non existent.

Practitioner's Mission

We came to this world to save human beings. How can we depend on those people who were to be saved by us to do anything for us?

Everything that happens in this society was to play out during the Fa-rectification process. Master is here to rectify the Fa. Every human being, from an ordinary person to a high ranking official, and everything else has been arranged a long time ago.

One can only do what the Fa-rectification needs. Of course, one can choose to side with righteous or evil.

Validating the Fa is an honorable duty for Dafa practitioners and no other life can replace a practitioner. Only practitioners are able to effect the end of the Party and validate the Fa.

It has been many years since Master taught the Fa in 2002 concerning practitioners connection to the demise of the Party. I am ashamed that I did not understand the meaning of this teaching until 15 years later.

Similarities to Situations

I believe that if many practitioners put their hope in the current ruler, and depend on ordinary people to do something for Dafa, a strong attachment will be created which damages the task of saving sentient beings. This will also give the old forces an excuse to act against the Fa and prolong the Fa-rectification process.

Master said,

“Do you remember how before April 25th of 1999 that Premier of China said positive things about Dafa? When our students went to appeal on April 25th, he met with some Dafa disciples and said good things. After the persecution started, this caused some of our students to develop a lot of ordinary human thoughts, thinking: "I hope the chief of the evil in Mainland China dies soon. I hope he falls from power so the premier can take his place. And if the premier is in power, won't our name be restored?" Didn't it cross your mind: this is the Fa of the cosmos, so if humans want to attack it, you think they can just attack it? And if human beings want to restore our name, you think they can just restore our name? Humans aren't worthy of that! How could you pin your hopes on an ordinary person? You are Dafa disciples!” (Touring North America to Teach the Fa)

“How could you think that way about things? If all of you think that way, the old forces will see it and think: "How can they all have those thoughts? Those thoughts have to be removed, so let's make that premier turn bad." They would rather make him turn bad in order to get rid of your ordinary human thoughts.” (Touring North America to Teach the Fa)

The current situation is very similar to that of 15 years ago. Fellow practitioners must learn from my mistake and immediately search within for the attachment of depending on ordinary people.

We have learned many lessons over the past 18 years. An ordinary person or an organization can do good deeds to help us, if they have learned the truth and made a correct choice. However, whatever they do, they are just playing a supportive role. We, the Dafa disciples, are in the driver's seat because we are Master's Fa rectification period disciples.
