(Minghui.org) Four police officers dropped by Ms. Pang Xiuqing's home in the Shunyi District in Beijing on October 6, 2017, and asked her whether she still practiced Falun Gong.
There is no law in China that deems Falun Gong a crime, so Ms. Pang urged the police to stop persecuting Falun Gong practitioners like her.
The officers found some Falun Gong items in her home and called in more police, who arrived with a search warrant. They confiscated her Falun Gong books and other materials, as well as 8,000 yuan.
Ms. Pang was taken to the Gaoliying Police Station. Her husband tried to deliver clothes to her but was turned away. He tried again hours later.
Ms. Pang is now being held in the Nihe Detention Center.
Ms. Pang was first arrested for her belief in early 2000 and mistreated while in police custody. She was forced to squat for long periods of time for refusing to disclose her name and address.
The police force-fed her with salty water and soy milk when she went on a hunger strike in protest. She threw up violently as a result.
Her hands were cuffed behind her back for long periods of time. They still hurt three weeks after her release.
