Additional Persecution News from China – September 30, 2017 (16 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 9 provinces. According to this report, 13 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 21 were illegally arrested.

1. [Shanghai] Ms. Liu Shufang Arrested

Ms. Liu Shufang's arrest was approved on September 29, 2017.

2. [Qian'an County, Jilin Province] Mr. Wang Xifeng Detained

Mr. Wang Xifeng is currently being held at a detention center.

3. [Jiutai City, Jilin Province] Mr. Sun Jinghe Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Sun Jinghe was sentenced to a five-year-and-six-month prison term, and fined 10,000 yuan.

4. [Luzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Luo Shuizhen Sent to Prison

Ms. Luo Shuizhen, 62, was arrested on March 17, 2016, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was sentenced to a four-year prison term and fined 10,000 yuan by the Luzhou City Intermediate Court. She was sent to Longquan Women's Prison on September 20, 2017.

The Jiangyang District Public Security Authority and the Luzhou City Procuratorate participated the persecution of Ms. Luo.

Ms. Luo was previously subjected to forced-labor twice for five years and was sentenced to a five-year prison term.

5. [Huainan City, Anhui Province] Ms. Zhang Yanmei Arrested

Ms. Zhang Yanmei was arrested on September 28, 2017.

6. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Wenlong Arrested

Mr. Zhang Wenlong was arrested by officers from the Zhangdian District Domestic Security Division on September 28, 2017. His wife, Ms. Xu Qiulan, was sentencedto a three-year prison term by Zhangdian District.

7. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhong Qingxia and Ms. Wang Yanping Arrested

Ms. Zhong Qingxia was arrested at home by officers from the Dajijia Police Station in Kaifa District around September 26, 2017. Her whereabouts are unknown.

Ms. Wang Yanping was arrested and had her home ransacked on September 28, 2017. She was released on probation that night.

8. [Qixia City, Shandong Province] Ms. Luan Shumei Arrested

Ms. Luan Shumei was arrested at home by four officers from the Tsuiping Police Station on September 26, 2017. The police confiscated Falun Gong books, volumes of Minghui Weekly, and Minghui table calendars. She was released that evening.

9. [Penglai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yang Shuyu's Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Yang Shuyu was arrested on September 29, 2017, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Her whereabouts are unknown.

10. [Shen County, Shandong Province] Two Practitioners Harassed

Ms. Bai Xiyu and Ms. Sun Aiying had their homes ransacked on September 28, 2017.

11. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Yan Xiangmin and Ms. Cheng Aiyang Arrested

Ms. Yan Xiangmin and Ms. Cheng Aiyang were arrested on September 29, 2017.

12. [Nanchang County, Jiangxi Province] Six Practitioners Arrested

Six practitioners were arrested by officers from the Nanchang City Police Department and the Nangchang County Domestic Security Division on September 13, 2017. The arrested practitioners included Ms. Kuang Zhihua, Ms. Zheng Yinxiu, Ms. Fan Wuying, Mr. Xiong Changdi and his wife, Ms. Wan Donglan, and Mr. Li Junyun, 60 years old. Ms. Kuang and Ms. Fan were arrested at their workplace. They are all being held at the Nanchang County Detention Center.

13. [Neihuang County, Henan Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Li Xinju, Mr. Zhang Guizhou, Mr. Fan Zi, and Ms. Yu Fen were arrested on their way home on September 27, 2017, for posting stickers containing information about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police confiscated all their materials. Ms. Li was later released because of her advanced age. The other practitioner's whereabouts are unknown.

14. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Zhou Xiyun Detained

Ms. Zhou Xiyun is currently being held at the Zhongyuanlu Detention Center.

15. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Chen Jucui Sent to Prison

Ms. Chen Jucui, 64, was arrested by officers from the Shilipu Police Station in Baqiao District on May 30, 2016, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong and distributing informational materials.

She has since been detained at Ankang Hospital. She was sentenced to a two-year prison term, and sent to Shaanxi Women's Prison on September 6, 2017, but her family was not notified.

16. [Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Ma Shuhua and Her Family Arrested

Ms. Ma Shuhua was arrested at home by officers from the Fuli Police Station on September 24, 2017. The police ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Gong books, two printers, informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong, one computer, and other personal belongings.

Officers forcibly put Ms. Ma Shuzhen, Shuhua's sister, into an iron cage on September 25. The police threatened her to divulge the whereabouts of Ms. Ma Shumei, Shuhua's other sister, or both (Shuhua and Shuzhen) would be detained.

To force Shuhua's family to turn in Shumei, the police arrested Shuhua's husband, Mr. Fan Shulin, and her daughter, Ms. Fan Jingjing, on the evening of September 25. The police took Fan Jingjing with them to go to Ms. Wang Yuzhen's home. They intended to arrest Ms. Wang because she refused to reveal Shumei's whereabouts. However, the police did not succeed because Ms. Wang's family firmly resisted.
