Additional Persecution News from China – September 22, 2017 (17 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 6 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 22 were illegally arrested.

1. [Nanyang City, Henan Province] Four Practitioners Detained

Ms. He Xiuli, in her 50s; Ms. Chen Shanglan, 72; Ms. Cui Min, 71; and Ms. Yang Mingfang, 64, from Suizhou City, Hubei Province, were intercepted at a border checkpoint between Hubei and Henan provinces on the evening of September 14, 2017. They were on their way to set up truth-clarifying display boards in Tongbai County, Nangyang City, Henan Province. They were arrested and taken to the Nanyang City No. 1 Detention Center by officers from the Tongbai County Police Department's Domestic Security Division.

2. [Haiyang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Fan Huiyong Arrested

A deputy director and two officers from the Facheng Town Police Station broke into Mr. Fan Huiyong's home in Henan Village on September 20, 2017. They questioned him about his lawsuit against the former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin. They took Mr. Fan to the police station for interrogation. He was then taken to a hospital for a physical exam. He was found to have high blood pressure and severe symptoms of kidney stones. The officers took him to the Haiyang Detention Center. The detention center refused to accept him, so he was released.

3. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Xiuchun and Ms. Yao Shuxia Arrested

Ms. Liu Xiuchun, 53, was arrested on the morning of September 20, 2017. Ms. Yao Shuxia, 60, who was visiting, was also arrested. The police confiscated Falun Gong books and calendars.

Ms. Liu is held in the Shenyang City No. 1 Detention Center. Ms. Yao returned home the next day.

4. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Ma Zhenyu and Mr. Wu Yilin Arrested

Mr. Ma Zhenyu was arrested and his home ransacked by the Xuanwu police on September 19, 2017. Mr. Wu Yilin, who owned the dwelling Mr. Ma lived in, was also arrested, and his home was ransacked that evening.

5. [Pingquan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Huimin and Ms. Lu Shulan Arrested

Ms. Wang Huimin, 59, and Ms. Lu Shulan, 77, from Dongsanjia Village were arrested by officers from the Pingquan Town Police Station on September 21, 2017, for talking to people about Falun Gong. The officers confiscated printed materials, DVDs, and car pendants. The police interrogated and threatened them. Ms. Lu was released after they took her fingerprints. Ms. Wang was detained for 12 days.

6. [Mishan City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Xin Lilian Detained

Ms. Xin Lilian went out to distribute Falun Gong materials on September 19, 2017. She did not return home. The next morning her family learned that she was being held in the Mishan City Detention Center.

7. [Lai'an County, Anhui Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhao Xiaoli was arrested by officers from the local 610 Office and the Domestic Security Division on the afternoon of September 8, 2017. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated a computer, a printer, printer paper, ink, and other items. At the same time three practitioners surnamed Zhou, Chen, and Zhang were also arrested. They are being held in the Dawang Detention Center, Chuzhou City.

8. [Chongqing] Ms. Lai Henghui and Husband's Whereabouts Unknown

More than a dozen police and plainclothes officers broke into Ms. Lai Henghui's home and ransacked it on the morning of September 20, 2017. They confiscated everything related to Falun Gong. Ms. Lai and her husband were arrested. Their whereabouts are unknown.

9. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Shengyun Arrested

Ms. Wang Shengyun was arrested and taken to the Fenghuang Police Station on September 27, 2017.

10. [Beijing] Ms. Chen Zhonglian Arrested

Ms. Chen Zhonglian from the Xiaohetun area in the Yanqing District was arrested by officers from the Yanqing District 610 Office and the Xiadu Police Station on September 15, 2017, for distributing Falun Gong informational materials.

11. [Wuqiang County, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Huanyun and Ms. Gao Hongye Arrested

Ms. Li Huanyun and Ms. Gao Hongye were arrested.

12. [Beijing] Ms. Kan Shufeng Detained

Ms. Kan Shufeng was arrested by 610 Office staff and administrative personnel from the Community Residential Committee on September 1, 2017. Her home was ransacked. All her Falun Gong books, four printers, and two computers were confiscated. She was taken to the Chaoyang Detention Center.

Her younger sister had to leave home and go into hiding to avoid persecution.

13. [Hailin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhao Zhongxiu and Ms. Cao Fengmin Arrested

Ms. Zhao Zhongxiu and Ms. Cao Fengmin from Donghe Village were arrested by officers from the Sanhe Police Station. They were taken to the Hailin Police Department.

Ms. Wang Ying was harassed by officers from the Fenjie Police Station in Gaozhou City on the morning of September 21, 2017. She left home to avoid being persecuted.

15. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wang Zhuang Taken to Prison

Mr. Wang Zhuang was taken to the New Inmates Ward in Liaonan Prison.

16. [Maoming City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zhou Qixue Arrested

Ms. Zhou Qixue was arrested on September 20, 2017.

17. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhang Ximin and Ms. Li Qing Arrested

Feng Haibo and officers from the Daqing Domestic Security Division arrested Ms. Li Qing at her home on the afternoon of September 21, 2017. They ransacked her home and confiscated a printer and Falun Gong books. Ms. Li was taken to the Chengfeng Police Department.

It was reported that Mr. Zhang Ximin was arrested first, and Ms. Li was then implicated.
