Additional Persecution News from China – September 29, 2017 (17 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 9 provinces. According to this report, 9 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 20 were illegally arrested.

1. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Zhixiu's Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Liu Zhixiu was arrested at home by officers from the Huaiyin District Criminal Police Division on September 27, 2017. Her whereabouts are unknown.

A dozen officers from the district ransacked her home and confiscated items related to Falun Gong the day before her arrest, when she was not at home.

2. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Li Enying's Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Li Enying, 68, from Nanjing, was arrested at home and had her home ransacked by officers from Anhui Province on September 25, 2017. Her whereabouts are unknown.

3. [Bazhou City, Hebei Province] Whereabouts of Ms. Li Wenhong and Ms. Lu Ronggai Unknown

Ms. Li Wenhong and Ms. Lu Ronggai were arrested by officers from the Jianchapu Police Station on September 26, 2017, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police ransacked their homes and confiscated printers, computers, and Falun Gong books. Their whereabouts are unknown.

4. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Mr. Song Zhicun Detained

Mr. Song Zhicun was arrested on September 26, 2017 and detained for 15 days.

5. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Chen Encai Detained

Mr. Chen Encai was arrested at Weifang Railway Station on September 27, 2017, for carrying informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. He was taken to the Weifang City Police Department. The police later ransacked his home and confiscated Falun Gong books, a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, informational materials, and paper money which had information about Falun Gong on it.

He is currently held at Weifang City Detention Center.

6. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Xiulan and Ms. Ding Shumei Arrested

Ms. Wang Xiulan and Ms. Ding Shumei were arrested by officers from the Hedong Police Station in Shuncheng District on September 4, 2017, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Ms. Ding was rejected by a detention center because she failed the physical examination. Both practitioners were released the next day.

7. [Beijing] Ms. Shi Xinhong Arrested

Ms. Shi Xinhong was arrested by officers from the Songyuan Police Station and the 610 Office on September 16, 2017, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police ransacked her home and confiscated a picture of the founder of Falun Gong. She was rejected by the Changping Detention Center because she failed the physical examination. She was released the next day.

8. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Five practitioners were arrested on August 15, 2017. They are Mr. Yan Changjun, Mr. Gou Donghai, Ms. Li Min, Ms. Li Yue, and Ms. Kan Guihong. All but Mr. Gou were released. Mr. Gou is still detained and deprived of family visits.

The police also wanted to arrest Ms. Jiang Yumei on August 15 but to no avail because she was not at home.

However, Ms. Jiang was arrested at her mother's home in early September and later released. On September 19, she was arrested again.

9. [Urumqi, Xinjiang Autonomous Region] Ms. Pan Xiaowen and Ms. Pan Xiaorui Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Pan Xiaorui was arrested by officers from the Zhongyinggong Police Station on September 11, 2017, for suing the former Chinese leader two years ago. She was detained for 15 days and then taken to Urumqi No. 3 Detention Center.

On September 27, her sister, Ms. Pan Xiaowen, went to the detention center to bring her home and realized that she was taken to a brainwashing center. The next day, Xiaowen was also arrested and taken to Anningqu Brainwashing Center.

10. [Anshun City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Qiao Yumin's Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Qiao Yumin was arrested on September 26, 2017. Her whereabouts are unknown.

11. [Urumqi, Xinjiang] Ms. Zhang Lihua Arrested

Ms. Zhang Lihua was arrested by officers from Shuimogou District on September 20, 2017. The police confiscated a computer and 12 amulets.

12. [Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Han Qiuli, Ms. Wang Xiuxia and Mr. Liu Weidong Imprisoned

Ms. Han Qiuli and Ms. Wang Xiuxia, both in their 70s, were arrested on July 4, 2015. They were sentenced to seven-year and three-year prison terms, respectively, and taken to Shaanxi Province Women's Prison on September 14, 2017.

Mr. Liu Weidong was also arrested on July 4, 2015. He was later sentenced to a four-year prison term and taken to Weinan Prison.

13. [Shanghai] Ms. Zhang Yuelian and Mr. Wang Wenxin Arrested

Ms. Zhang Yuelian and Mr. Wang Wenxin were arrested and had their homes ransacked on September 27, 2017.

14. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Two Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Li Chunwu and Ms. Wang Xiulan, both in their 60s, were arrested by officers from the Linpan Town Police Station on September 26, 2017, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. They were taken to Dezhou City Detention Center that evening. Ms. Wang was released on probation because she failed the physical examination. Ms. Li was held at the detention center and it was said that his detention term would be for one month.

15. [Shanghai] Ms. Liu Meiying Detained

Ms. Liu Meiying was arrested on September 26, 2017, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She is currently held at Jing'an District Detention Center.

16. [Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zeng Qing Detained

Ms. Zeng Qing was arrested and had her home ransacked on September 21, 2017. She is currently held at Zhuhai City No. 1 Detention Center and deprived of family visits.

17. [Dazhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Peng Renxiu Arrested

Ms. Peng Renxiu was arrested and had her home ransacked by officers from the Dachuan District Domestic Security Division on September 24, 2017.
