(Minghui.org) Mr. Deng Chuanjiu, a Falun Gong practitioner, was arrested at his workplace on the morning of October 8.
An hour later, over a dozen police officers arrived at his home. They broke into the house by breaking down two doors. Mr. Deng's wife was so frightened that she tried to hide inside the home, but the police still found her. They searched the place and confiscated Falun Gong books, two laptops and a printer, as well as some Falun Gong informational materials.
When Mr. Deng's wife tried to stop the police from ransacking her home, she was beaten for about half an hour. She tried to call for help, but an officer punched her to the floor and tied her hands with rope.
The police then took Mrs. Deng and her son to a local government building. They were told to sign some papers and were threatened with being beaten if they refused. When they asked why Mr. Deng had been arrested, the police told them, “He has been sending out [Falun Gong] text messages on WeChat.”
Mrs. Deng and her son were released half an hour later.
Mr. Deng Chuanjiu is from Qunbai Village, Gexianshan Town, Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province. Prior to his latest arrest, he was sentenced to five years in prison in 2004 for practicing Falun Gong and talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.
