(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners in Pingtung, Taiwan, were invited to perform at the “End of Year Blessing” parade and gala in Tung Chaochow Town, Pingtung, on December 31.
Town Mayor Hong Mingjiang, who has been concerned about the persecution of Falun Gong in China, welcomed the practitioners. “Every time I see Falun Gong practitioners, I have respect for them in my heart. The principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is something we should follow. Our communities need it,” he said.

Mayor Hong Mingjiang: “The principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is a model for me. I will devote myself to these principles and make our town a compassionate place.”
Mayor Hong thanked the practitioners for their excellent performances. “Every practitioner was full of energy and so happy. I think this is because of the principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Their smiles show sincerity and compassion. They are our model,” he said.
“Although I don't practice Falun Gong, I have a very positive impression of the practice. Practitioners try to bring a positive and healthy message to our society. Especially in mainland China, practitioners there refuse to give up their belief even in the face of severe persecution. I am always touched by their spirit.”
Dr. Chang, a local physician who watched the parade, said, “I have relatives who practice Falun Gong. They are very kind and responsible people.
“Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is beneficial to our society. The communist party should not suppress it. I was really angry when I saw some communist followers in Taiwan who harassed Falun Gong practitioners. I want to help Falun Gong whenever I read such news.
“Falun Gong practitioners don't believe in violence, so they don't fight back,” Dr. Chang said. “Our policemen should protect them.”
