(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 6 cities or counties in 4 provinces. According to this report, 6 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 5 were illegally arrested.

1. [Beijing] Ms. Liu Jinying Detained

Ms. Liu Jinying from Caiyu Town, Daxing District, was arrested at home on December 27, 2016. She is being held in the Daxing District Detention Center.

2. [Beijing] Ms. Xia Shufang Arrested

Ms. Xia Shufang from Miyun District was arrested by officers from the Taishitun Police Station at noon on January 2, 2017. The officers confiscated 4,044 yuan in cash, along with Falun Gong materials.

3. [Jieyang City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Lin Yande Taken to Sihui Prison

Mr. Lin Yande's family received a notification from the Sihui Prison on January 3, 2017, saying that Mr. Lin had been taken to prison. Mr. Lin was sentenced to eight-and-a-half years in prison on September 30, 2016. When he appealed, the higher court upheld the original sentence.

4. [Nanyang City, Henan Province] Mr. Liu Qingyuan's Whereabouts Unknown

Mr. Liu Qingyuan was arrested in 2013 for sending text messages about Falun Gong. His whereabouts are currently unknown.

5. [Yongkang City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Tong Weixian Given a Three-and-a-Half-Year Prison Term

Ms. Tong Weixian was recently sentenced to a three-and-a-half-year prison term. She has appealed the sentence. She was arrested and taken to a detention center in late August 2016 for distributing Falun Gong informational materials.

6. [Huaihua City, Hunan Province] Two Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Qiu Qianying and Ms. Zhou were arrested by officers from the Tuanjie Police Station on the afternoon of January 2, 2017, for talking to people about Falun Gong in the Wushui Road area. Their whereabouts are unknown.

7. [Chongqing] Mr. Dai Xianming Imprisoned

Mr. Dai Xianming from Yongchuan District was arrested by patrol officers in the Xinglong Lake area at around noon on July 2, 2016. He was taken to a detention center. He was tried on October 11, 2016, and sentenced to one year and two months in prison. He has been taken to the Yongchuan Prison.

8. [Beijing] Three Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Xiao Lianhong, Ms. Sun Jinxia, and Mr. Ma Zhenmin were each sentenced to a two-year prison term by the Chaoyang District Court on January 3, 2017.
