(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 12 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 9 were illegally arrested.

1. [Faku County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Chen Yang Given a Three-Year Prison Term

Mr. Chen Yang was arrested at home on February 19, 2016. He was sentenced to three years in prison on June 16. He appealed, but the original verdict was upheld during his second trial. He was taken to the Dabei Prison, Shenyang City, on December 18, 2016.

2. [Zaoyang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Li Zelan Given a Seven-Year Prison Term

Ms. Li Zelan, 70, was recently sentenced to seven years in prison by the Zaoyang City Court.

3. [Chuxiong City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Wang Ping and Ms. An Lanbo Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Wang Ping was sentenced to seven years in prison on December 19, 2016. She was taken directly to the Yunnan No. 2 Women's Prison. Ms. An Lanbo was sentenced to three years in prison. She was taken to the Chuxiong City Detention Center.

4. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Shuxu Given a Three-and-a-Half-Year Prison Term

Ms. Zhang Shuxu from the Development Zone was arrested on the morning of June 28, 2016. She was recently sentenced to a three-and-a-half-year prison term. She has been taken to the Shenyang Prison.

5. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Su Qinghua Given a Three-Year Prison Term

Mr. Su Qinghua was given a three-year prison term by the High-tech Development Zone Court on December 29, 2016.

He was arrested by officers from the Sanwayao Police Station on September 2, 2015. He was held in the Pi County Detention Center.

6. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Mr. Yuan Changlian Given a Four-Year Prison Term

Mr. Yuan Changlian was recently sentenced to four years in prison by the Fengyang Court.

7. [Wuzhi County, Henan Province] Ms. Wang Guozhen Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

Ms. Wang Guozhen, 56, was secretly sentenced to three years in prison without a court hearing. She remains in custody at the Jiaozuo City Detention Center.

She was arrested by officers from the Sanyang Township Police Station on the morning of June 13, 2016

8. [Huai'an City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zheng Hongxia Taken to Nanjing City Women's Prison

Ms. Zheng Hongxia was given a three-year-and-six-month prison term. She appealed to the Huai'an City Intermediate Court. The intermediate court upheld the original verdict. Ms. Zheng was taken to the Nanjing City Women's Prison on December 16, 2016.

9. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Cheng Ying Taken to Liaoning Province Women's Prison

Ms. Cheng Ying was arrested on May 19, 2016. She was recently sentenced to prison and taken to the Liaoning Province Women's Prison.

10. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Zhuhua Detained

Mr. Li Zhuhua, a retired worker of the Liaohe Oilfield Road Construction Company, was arrested at his home in the Xinglongtai District on December 26, 2016. The police ransacked his home and confiscated Falun Gong books. He was held in the Panjin City Detention Center for 15 days of detention.

11. [Fukang City, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region] Mr. Wang Wendi Arrested

Mr. Wang Wendi, in his 70s, was arrested and his home was ransacked on December 29, 2016.

12. [Taikang County, Henan Province] Mr. Gao Zhixi and Mr. Sun Arrested

Mr. Gao Zhixi and Mr. Sun were arrested by officers from the Zhangji Township Police Station in the early morning of December 16, 2016 for distributing Falun Gong materials. Their whereabouts are unknown.

13. [Linquan County, Anhui Province] Mr. Zhao Huajie Detained

Mr. Zhao Huajie from Laoji Town was arrested at his shop by Chen Chao, director of the Laoji Town Police Station, and Peng Long, an officer, on the morning of November 16, 2016. He was taken to the Linquan County Detention Center for 12 days of detention.

14. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Jin Junbo in Critical Condition

Mr. Jin Junbo, 56, was arrested in February 2014. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison during the first trial, which was changed to nine and a half years during the second trial. He was held in the Dongling Prison in Shenyang City. He is now in critical condition. He suffered a stroke, is experiencing Gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding, and cannot eat. He was transferred to Shenyang 739 Hospital.

15. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Zhou Xikun Detained

Mr. Zhou Xikun was arrested and his home ransacked by the Security Division personnel from the Information Agency of Wuhan University on the evening of December 20, 2016. He was taken to the Hongshan Detention Center.

Ms. Tang Xiumei and Ms. Guo were arrested by officers from the Jubukou Police Station on the morning of December 25, 2016 for talking to people about Falun Gong at the Shuiku farmers market.

17. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhao Lirong Detained

Ms. Zhao Lirong was arrested on the morning of December 5, 2016. The police confiscated her Falun Gong books. She was taken to the Weizigou Detention Center for five days of detention.

18. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Xiuyan Detained

Ms. Wang Xiuyan was arrested by officers from the Huaiyin District Domestic Security Division, Jinan City, the Lashan Police Station, Jinan City, and the Dongguan Police Station, Weifang City on November 9, 2016 for distributing Falun Gong materials. She was taken to the Dongguan Police Station for interrogation. The officers confiscated her Falun Gong books, materials, a notebook computer, and paper currency with printed Falun Gong messages. Ms. Wang was taken to the Jinan No. 3 Detention Center for 10 days of detention.
