(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 23 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 6 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 25 practitioners were illegally arrested.
Four officers from Beimeng Town, Changyi City, went to Mr. Liu Shushun's home in Majiamiao Village and ransacked it on the morning of August 15, 2016. They confiscated a copy of Zhuan Falun and several copies of Minghui Weekly. They then went to Mr. Liu Jiageng's home in Lier Village to harass her.
Ms. Dai Chunying, 67, was taken to Ward No. 6 at Zhejiang Women's Prison in November 2014. She was deprived of sleep for an extended period of time. She was held in a solitary confinement for a month in 2015. She has become rather thin, and has high blood pressure as a result of being abused.
Mr. Pan Xihua from Didao District was arrested by officers from the Railroad Police Station at the Jixi Train Station on the morning of August 31, 2016. He was brought back to the Didao Police Department.

While imprisoned, Mr. Gao Yumin has been on a hunger strike to protest the persecution for over 40 days.
Officers from the Yehe Town Police Station in Tiedong District showed up at Mr. Ma Chi's home and ransacked it on the morning of August 30, 2016. They confiscated twelve Falun Gong books and a computer. Mr. Ma was arrested. His whereabouts are unknown.
Ms. Zhao Qiyao, who lives in the Caiyunhu Residential Community in Jiulongpo District, was tricked into opening her door on the morning of September 1, 2016. Chen Zhi and Chen Jianwei, officers in charge of household registration from the Jiulongyuan Police Station, broke into her home. They arrested her and her two-year-old son.

Elderly Mr. Pan Hong, from the Fuhaihuayuan Residential Community in the Gaoxin Development Zone, was arrested on the afternoon of August 17, 2016, by officers from the Gaoxin District Domestic Security Division. The officers ransacked his home and confiscated a computer and other personal belongings. Mr. Pan has since returned home.
Ms. Lian Guangzhu was sentenced to five years in prison for suing Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese Communist Party leader who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong.

Mr. Wang Ping and Mr. Li Yonggang were arrested at home on September 1, 2016.
Mr. Zhang Xiaolin, from Xiangshun Town, Tonghe County, was arrested on September 1, 2016, for suing Jiang Zemin. He is being held in the Tonghe County Detention Center.

Mr. Li Jifeng from Boshan District is scheduled to be tried for a second time on the morning of September 6, 2016, at the Zibo City Intermediate Court.
He was sentenced to five years and six months in prison and fined 25,000 yuan on June 20, 2016. He has appealed the sentence.
The Boshan District Procuratorate also disputed the sentencing and recommended the court to sentence Mr. Li to seven years in prison or even to life imprisonment. They also recommended confiscating all of his possessions.
Mr. Li Xinji was reported when he was distributing Falun Gong informational materials in the countryside on the evening of August 24, 2016. He was arrested by officers from the Daming Police Station. Four or five officers led by Jia Xu, director of the Daming Police Station, subsequently ransacked Mr. Li's home and confiscated about 70 copies of Falun Gong books, DVDs of lectures given by the founder of Falun Gong, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, a computer, three cell phones, over 300 yuan in cash, two speakers, a pair of lanterns, and four desktop calendars. Mr. Li is being held in the Diaobingshan Detention Center.

Mr. Hu Xuehua, about 60, was arrested on September 1, 2016.
Ms. Mu Shaoqiong was arrested at home by Domestic Security officers on September 1, 2016.
Mr. Wang Aisheng was arrested at work at the No. 4 Chifeng Middle School at noon on September 1, 2016. Officers later went to Mr. Wang's home and arrested his wife, Ms. Song Guohua.
Mr. Zhao Chuanwen and Mr. Zhou Guangming were sentenced to 2 and 1.5 years, respectively, for telling people about the persecution of Falun Gong.
Both men's families worked hard seeking their release after the arrests on December 24, 2015. In retaliation, local police arrested the family members.
Mr. Zhao's wife Ms. Liu Fenghou was arrested around August this year. She is facing a trial at Linyi Detention Center.
Mr. Zhou's daughter Ms. Zhou Guangming was also arrested and detained for 37 days.
Four Changping practitioners were tried one after the other during a span of nine days in early August 2016, for putting up banners with messages exposing the persecution of Falun Gong.
Mr. Hu Weixue, Mr. Chen Junjie, Ms. Yuan Wen, and Mr. Che Yong were arrested together on January 13, 2016, and appeared in court on August 1, August 2, August 8, and August 9, respectively. Their lawyers defended their constitutional rights to practice and spread information about Falun Gong, and they also testified how Falun Gong only taught them to be good people, and that they had not broken any laws.
The same judge at Changping District Court presided over the four trials. He didn't issue any verdicts at the conclusion of the hearings.
Three practitioners were tried by Wolong District Court on August 23, for refusing to renounce their faith in Falun Gong.
Ms. Chen Yujing, Mr. Yao Guofu, and his wife Ms. Liang Xin were arrested on December 5, 2015. Their lawyers argued that no law in China criminalizes Falun Gong, and that their clients had every right to practice the spiritual discipline based on the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
The three practitioners also testified that the police violated legal procedures and their human rights. Ms. Liang said she was interrogated for the entire night and was not allowed to sleep. The police ransacked her home without showing a search warrant.
Ms. Chen said she was hung up by her handcuffed wrists for two straight days.
All three practitioners appeared emaciated and weak. They have been held at the Nanyang City Detention Center since their arrests.
Ms. Qian Aizhi remains detained following her arrest on December 14, 2015, for filing a criminal complaint against Jiang Zemin for initiating the persecution of Falun Gong.
Ms. Qian's latest arrest took place only eight months after she finished serving 3.5 years in prison for refusing to renounce her faith in Falun Gong.
Her family is worried about what is in store for her, but the authorities have not provided updates on her case.
Mr. Wang Zhongxian was released on August 26, more than two months after he was arrested one hour before his wife's scheduled release from prison.
Both Mr. Wang and his wife Ms. Wang Haohong practice Falun Gong. Ms. Wang was sentenced to seven years for her faith, and is scheduled to be released on June 14, 2016.
The couple did not have a chance to reunite on that day though, as Mr. Wang was seized even before his wife left the prison.
Mr. Wang was brutally beaten during an interrogation. His entire body was covered with bruises, and one of his ears was bleeding.
In order to hide their brutality, the police denied Mr. Wang family visits and didn't release him until his wounds healed.
The Qinghe District Court tried Ms. Zheng Hongxia on the morning of August 24, 2016. Her family hired Lawyer Zhang from Beijing to defend her.
Ms. Zheng and her husband started practicing Falun Gong in 2008. Her husband had been sentenced to a three-year prison term while she was being held in a forced labor camp for one year.
After being released, they wrote letters to the guards who tortured them and advised them not to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. These letters were used as evidence for arresting Ms. Zheng.
Ms. Wen Pinling, 66, was arrested by twelve officers from the Domestic Security Division of Wuhua County Police Department on August 23, 2016. It was said that she was taken to Dapu Detention Center the next day.
The Xuanwei Court sentenced Ms. Zhao Feiqiong to four and a half years of imprisonment on August 17, 2016. Ms. Zhao filed an appeal on August 24. She said that she didn’t fear being held in prison, but she shouldn’t be detained.
The Tanggu Court in Binhai District sentenced Ms. Song Huichan to a three-year prison term on June 2, 2016. Ms. Song filed an appeal with the Tianjin No. 2 Intermediate Court on June 7, 2016.
The intermediate court rejected Ms. Song’s appeal and upheld the original sentence on July 21, 2016.
