Not Being Overly Attached to Being a “Leader”

(Minghui.org) I felt that I was lagging behind in cultivation and was ashamed after reading two experience sharing articles on the Minghui website. The articles talked about “The Great Way without form” and whether there should be an overall coordinator in Mainland China.

One of the articles pointed out that although before the persecution, there was the Research Society and assistance centers in various regions, everyone used the Fa to set the standard and to check themselves in cultivation. This was a form in the human world and no one was attached to it.

After the persecution started in 1999, the Research Society and assistance centers were gone but this did not affect our cultivation. It also goes to show that our cultivation is not dependent on this form.

However, when the persecution started, the whole body of practitioners in my region seemed a bit scattered. Hence a few enthusiastic practitioners, myself included, got together and took on a coordination role. Without us realizing it, the attachment to fame started to surface. However, I didn’t realize the consequences of such an attachment until I got into a car accident.

Thanks to Master’s protection, I survived the accident and began to ponder why I had such a tribulation. After reflecting and looking within, I came to see that it was my attachment to being a leader.

Some other local coordinators also experienced various kinds of interference, and there were many cases of large scale arrests in our area.

I became alarmed and wrote several articles on my understandings of the arrests, but the Minghui website did not publish any of them. I later realized that it was because my cultivation state was not pure and I did not find the root cause of the arrests.

Master has said,

“Only when a person has truly grasped the Fa can he walk the path righteously and can his being be assured a good outcome. Otherwise that kind of being remains in the most perilous situation, because the evil can take advantage of his gaps at any time.” (“Teaching the Fa at the 2004 International Fa Conference in New York”)

Looking at it now, I have come to realize that regardless of the planes of the beings, for those who do not follow the universe's requirements, their lives will be in danger.

Master has said clearly,

“In fact, since you all have the Fa, regardless of whether those Dafa disciples are in touch with others, as long as they know Dafa’s current state of affairs, if they are able to get online and break through the Internet blockade, they will be able to keep up with the current state of affairs, because gods are watching over things.” (“Fa Teaching Given at the 2014 San Francisco Fa Conference”)

I would like to remind myself and practitioners in Mainland China not to be attached to being a “leader”. There is no leader in cultivation. Only by following Dafa can one reach Consummation. We should let go of our attachments and quickly save more people.
