(Minghui.org) A teacher in Jiansanjiang was sentenced to three years in prison for filing a lawsuit against the local brainwashing center that kept her captive after her 4-year imprisonment. She was targeted by the authorities for practicing Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline persecuted by the Chinese regime since 1999.
When Ms. Jiang Xinbo was released from prison on September 9, 2013, she was taken straight to Qinglongshan Brainwashing Center (in Jiansanjiang), where she was confined for two months and tortured. However, she was taken back to the brainwashing center in February 2014 and not released until April 23.

Her latest arrest came when police took her from her home at the end of 2015 and put her in a detention center the next day. After holding a hunger strike for 12 days, Ms. Jiang was transferred to Hegang City Second Detention Center and placed under criminal detention.
Ms. Jiang continued her hunger strike. The guards forcibly administered intravenous injections. She was denied meetings with her lawyer because she refused to wear a black headcover during the visits.
Her family was notified of her arrest in February 2016. She was tried on July 8 by Jiansanjiang Court. Prior to the trial, the authorities threatened several Falun Gong practitioners in the city not to appear at the trial. On the day of the trial, a dozen police cars surrounded the court, and many officers guarded the entrance. Armed police units patrolled major roads to Jiansanjiang.
The trial started at 10 a.m. and lasted for three hours. Ms. Jiang was allowed to speak for about ten minutes. No verdict was issued that day. A month later on August 10, the court sentenced Ms. Jiang to three years in prison and fined her 30,000 yuan (~$4,500 USD).
