(Minghui.org) A total of 79 Lianyungang residents are confirmed to have been targeted for filing criminal complaints against former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin for initiating the persecution of Falun Gong. Many of these Falun Gong practitioners had been persecuted in the past for refusing to renounce their faith. They hold Jiang responsible for their ordeals, only to face retaliation from the authorities.
2 Sentenced, 1 Awaiting Verdict, 3 Facing Trials
Among the targeted practitioners, Guo Jiafu and Zhang Hui have been sentenced, though the details of their verdicts remain to be investigated.
Zhang Xueyang has been tried and is awaiting verdict.
Zhong Jinjun, Xia Zhengyan, and Wang Suqin have been formally arrested and are facing trial.
7 Detained Beyond Legally Permissible Terms
Jiao Jiaqian, Song Jiaen, Zhong Weiling, Zhang Yufeng, Zhang Jiali, Xu Longbiao, and Yu Aimin have all been detained for at least nine months. Since they were never formally arrested, by law they should have been released.
They are currently held at Lianyungang Detention Center. According to insiders, these practitioners are forced to do slave labor and given meager amounts of half-cooked food every day. They are also subjected to various forms of torture and abuse.

In addition to above victims, most of the remaining practitioners in Lianyungang have also been arrested and detained for various lengths of time before being released. While a few practitioners avoided arrest, their homes were ransacked by police, and they were threatened.
