Additional Persecution News from China – August 29, 2016 (10 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 4 provinces. According to this report, 2 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 16 were illegally arrested.

1. [Xifeng County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Lihua Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Wang Lihua was recently sentenced to a year in prison. She was tried at the Xifeng County Court on July 29, 2016.

Ms. Wang was arrested on December 24, 2015 for suing Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese communist regime who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong.

2. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Yu Arrested

Ms. Wang Yu was arrested by officers from the Zhenxing District Police Department on the evening of August 28, 2016.

3. [Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province] Zhang Xiulan and Other Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhang Xiulan and other practitioners were arrested by officers from the Jiaozhou City Domestic Security Division and the Zhongyun Police Station on the evening of August 27, 2016.

Ms. Cui Xinhua and Ms. Ma Guihua, from Hongshu Residential District, Taiping District, were arrested by officers from the Shuiquan Police Station for talking to people about Falun Gong at the Tazigou scenic area in Shuiquan Town on the afternoon of August 27, 2016.

5. [Tianjin] Ms. Wang Ying Arrested

Ms. Wang Ying was arrested on the afternoon of August 24, 2016. Her home was ransacked.

6. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Mr. Li Qiubing on Hunger Strike

Mr. Liu Qiubing was recently arrested by the Shijiazhuang City police and officers from the Yufeng Police Station. He is on a hunger strike to protest his illegal detention.

7. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Four Practitioners' Whereabouts Unknown

Mr. Yang Xingyi, Ms. Liu Xiuying, Mr. Zhang Jinyu, and Mr. Zhou Qifang were reported for talking to people about Falun Gong in Xiaoyudong Town on the morning of August 27, 2016. They were arrested by officers from the Xiaoyudong Police Station. Their whereabouts are unknown.

8. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhong Lian's Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Zhong Lian, 63, was arrested on August 24, 2016. Her whereabouts are unknown.

9. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Wang Shurong, Ms. Lu Shuangju, Mr. Zhang Weiguo, and Mr. Li Chungui, from Sanmianchuan Town, Faku County, were arrested by officers from the Taotun Town Police Station for talking to people about Falun Gong in Lanqibao Village, Taotun Town, Xinmin City, on the afternoon of August 26, 2016. Ms. Wang remained in custody, while the other three practitioners returned home that afternoon.

Ms. Zhou Shuhuan from Qidaoling Town was arrested and detained by county domestic security officers on August 22, 2016.

Mr. Chen Deqing from Damiao Town was arrested by officers from the Damiao Police Station on August 23, 2016. His home was ransacked. He was held in the Xidayingzi Detention Center for seven days of detention.
