Additional Persecution News from China – August 22, 2016 (14 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 7 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 14 were illegally arrested.

1. [Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Bu Rumei's Arrest Authorized

Ms. Bu Rumei was arrested for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong on June 17, 2016. The arrest was authorized by Changzhou City Economic Development Zone Procuratorate.

2. [Qingfeng County, Henan Province] Ms. Lu Sugai Detained

Ms. Lu Sugai, 64, is held at Qingfeng County Detention Center. She was arrested on August 17, 2016.

3. [Beipiao City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liu Chundong Arrested

Mr. Liu Chundong was arrested by officers from Beipiao City Domestic Security Division on August 20, 2016 for doing Falun Gong exercises outdoors.

4. [Beijing] Ms. Yu Yanjie's Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Yu Yanjie was arrested by officers from Lixian Police Station on July 1, 2016, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Her whereabouts are unknown.

5. [Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Wang Mingfeng Arrested

Ms. Wang Mingfeng, in her 50s, was arrested by officers from Huacheng Police Station on July 28, 2016, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was taken to Xilin Detention Center in Changzhou.

6. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Liu Jingxiu Arrested

Ms. Liu Jingxiu was arrested by officers from Changtong Road Police Station on August 21, 2016, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.

7. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Sun Junying Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Sun Junying was arrested by officers from Guanxi Police Station on July 28, 2016, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was taken to the Wuhan City No. 1 Detention Center. She was later taken to Yusunshan Brainwashing Center after 15 days of detention.

8. [Yongkang City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Ma Yuefeng Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Ma Yuefeng was taken to Shuanglong Brainwashing Center on August 15, 2016.

9. [Tianshui City, Gansu Province] Ms. Zhang Liying in Police Custody

Ms. Zhang Liying was arrested by plainclothes officers at home on July 21, 2016. She is still in police custody.

10. [Xinmi City, Henan Province] Ms. Li Caiyan and Her Mother-In-Law Detained

Ms. Li Caiyan and her mother-in-law were arrested by officers from Xinmin City on August 12, 2016. They went to visit Mr. Pang Liang, who was incarcerated in Zhengzhou Prison. He had developed a serious illness due to persecution.

They were detained for 10 days and later taken to Jinzhou City Detention Center.

Ms. Zhou Zelan was arrested on August 1, 2016. She was taken to Beiheshan Detention Center.

1. Ms. Jing Huan was arrested by officers from Santai County Domestic Security Division and Special Patrol Division on June 1, 2016, for putting up informational posters about the persecution of Falun Gong.

2. Ms. Zhou Xiaoli and Mr. Zhou Faming were arrested when they went to Ms. Jing's home for information. Mr. Zhou was released and the two others are held at Mianyang City Detention Center.
