(Minghui.org) Two Kaiyang County residents were walking on the street on August 11 when they were stopped by police and had their bags searched. One of them was beaten to the point of having a brain hemorrhage.
The police had received tips from two elementary school pupils’ parents, who complained that Ms. Gong Fengfen and Ms. Huang Min talked to their children about Falun Gong.
Ms. Gong and Ms. Huang indeed ran into the two students earlier that day and told them about the Chinese communist regime’s persecution of Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline based on the principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
The two women felt compelled to raise awareness of the persecution, under which practitioners are systematically arrested, tortured, and even killed for refusing to renounce their faith.
Ms. Gong was released three days later because of her health condition. She recounted what happened to her on the day of her arrest.
The police handcuffed and shackled Ms. Gong so tightly that her limbs became numb. She had difficulty walking and was dragged all the way to the police vehicle. Her toes were severely injured as a result.
Officers hit Ms. Gong on the right side of her head. She soon developed abnormal symptoms on the left side of her body. She could not lift her left hand and left leg, close the left side of her lips, or stop drooling. She also experienced pain in her her forehead and eyes.
She had to lie in bed and rely on others to take care of her daily activities. Kaiyang County Lockup released her three days later and asked her family to seek medical treatment for her.
Ms. Gong was diagnosed with a hemorrhage in the right side of her brain. She also suffered toe fractures.
At the time of writing, Ms. Gong is getting better but still unable to take care of herself.
In the meantime, Ms. Huang’s family is worried about her well-being, as the authorities have not updated them on her condition. They are not sure if she remains at Kaiyang County Lockup or has been transferred elsewhere.
