Additional Persecution News from China – August 10, 2016 (15 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 9 provinces. According to this report, 10 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 12 were illegally arrested.

1. [Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Gao Wanfeng was arrested for distributing Falun Gong materials on August 7, 2016, by officers from the Gongzhuling City Domestic Security Division and agents from the 610 Office.

Ms. Cao Yumei and Ms. Huang Shuqin were arrested on the morning of August 8, 2016, and held at the Siping City Detention Center.

2. [Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Gu Degen Arrested

Ms. Gu Degen, 63, from Shangyu District, was arrested at home on the evening of August 8, 2016 by officers from local police station. The officers took away her printer, computer, cell phone, and other personal belongings.

3. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Liang Shumei Imprisoned

Ms. Liang Shumei was imprisoned on August 8, 2016 for suing former Chinese Communist Party leader Jiang Zemin for initiating and orchestrating the persecution of Falun Gong since 1999. She was sentenced to probation for distributing Falun Gong materials last year.

4. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Cui Guizhi Arrested

Ms. Cui Guizhi was arrested for distributing Falun Gong materials on the afternoon of August 2, 2016, and taken to the Jianguo Police Station. Officers ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books, a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, 3,500 yuan in cash, and Falun Gong materials. She was released that afternoon.

5. [Jining City, Shandong Province] Two Practitioners Facing Trials

Ms. Qian Xiuyun and Ms. Zhang Chaoying from Liangshan County were prosecuted by the county Procuratorate on July 15, 2016. The trial is scheduled on August 18, 2016. Ms. Qian has been held more than nine months at the Jining Detention Center. Ms. Zhang was released on bail.

6. [Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Kong Jianfen Arrested

Ms. Kong Jianfen from Anjia Town was arrested on August 5, 2016 by officers from the Anjiashe Police Station, while she was distributing Falun Gong materials in Anjiashe. Her whereabouts are unknown.

7. [Beijing] Mr. Li Yeliang on Hunger Strike

Mr. Li Yeliang of Tongzhou District has been held for more than six months at the Tongzhou Detention Center. He launched a hunger strike in August, 2016 to protest the false charges against him by the Tongzhou Police Department.

8. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Two Practitioners Detained

Ms. Fan Jingzhi and Ms. Ju Guiying, from Epengdianzi, Huanren County, were arrested for posting Falun Dafa flyers on July 30, 2016. They are being held at a local detention center.

Ms. Chen Hong was recently arrested by agents from the Xinpu District 610 Office.

10. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Yang Suhua in Police Custody

Ms. Yang Suhua of Haigang District was arrested by officers from the Duzhuang Police Station, when she was telling others about the persecution of Falun Gong. She is being held at the Duzhuang Police Station.

11. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Two Practitioners Detained

Mr. Zhu Guoming and Mr. Zhu Guozhi, from Chaobaoyingzi Village, Wuhua Township, Ningcheng County, were arrested on the evening of August 7, 2016 by officers from the Wuhua Township Police Station, when they were distributing Falun Gong materials in Gezishan Village. They are being held at the Ningcheng County Detention Center.

Mr. Ma Liguang of Heishan County was arrested on a bus on the evening of August 8, 2016, by officers from Heishan County Police Department. He is being held in Jinzhou City.

13. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Two Practitioners Facing Trials

Ms. Xia Meirong was arrested on August 5, 2015 by officers from the Qingchuan Street Police Station. She was taken to the Wuhan No. 1 Detention Center. She and another practitioner Ms. Wang Lijun will be tried by Hanyang District Court on the morning of August 17, 2016.

14. [Shizuishan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhao Jinfeng, Ms. Liu Cuimei, and Ms. Shi Meilan from the Huinong District were arrested on August 1, 2016. Ms. Zhao was released the next day. Ms. Liu and Ms. Shi have been detained.

15. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Jingzhe Sentenced to Six Year Prison Term

Ms. Wang Jingzhe, an official from the Dadong Local Taxation Bureau, was arrested at work on October 22, 2015 for suing Jiang Zemin. She was sentenced to six years in prison on June 16, 2016.
