(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 22 cities or counties in 11 provinces. According to this report, 7 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 43 practitioners were illegally arrested.

Ms. Huang Yuqing was arrested by officers from the Xiyuan Police Station in the Shushan District on July 28, 2016. She was placed in criminal detention.

2. [Shanghai] Mr. Tu Ming and Ms. Lu Sugan Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Tu Ming was sentenced to a four-year prison term by the Changning District Court. Ms. Lu Sugan was sentenced to two and a half years in prison by the Jiading District Court.

3. [Yiyang City, Hunan Province] Four Practitioners Detained

Ms. Pi Donghua, Ms. Liu Liyun, Ms. Chen Xiaohui, and Ms. Li Xiantao from Nan County were arrested when they were distributing Falun Gong informational materials on the afternoon of July 20, 2016. They were held in the Nan County Detention Center for 10 to 15 days. Ms. Liu and Ms. Chen were taken to the Yiyang City No. 2 Detention Center by Nan County 610 Office personnel the following day.

4. [Chongqing] Ms. Wang Sibi Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Wang Sibi from Shapingba District was arrested on July 28, 2016. She is being held in the Qianzhugou Brainwashing Center.

5. [Beijing] Ms. Ma Haifang Taken Into Police Custody

Ms. Ma Haifang, 38, from Shijingshan District, was arrested by officers from the Pingguoyuan Police Station on August 2, 2016. The officers confiscated a notebook computer and printed materials. She is being held in the police station.

6. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Zhu Guoxing Severely Injured from Beating

Mr. Zhu Guoxing from Yongxiu County was arrested on April 21, 2016, and taken to the Yongxiu County Detention Center. He was seriously injured after being severely beaten. He was rushed to a hospital.

7. [Xinbin County, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhang Yuxia, Mr. Zhao Guangyu, and Ms. Han Yufeng from Xinbin County went to visit relatives and friends in Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province. They went to a residential area in Yuhuatai District and distributed informational materials about Falun Gong on the afternoon of August 2, 2016. They were arrested by the local police and taken to the Tiexinqiao Police Station in the Yuhuatai District of Nanjing.

8. [Shifang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wu Zhaolan Arrested

Ms. Wu Zhaolan from Majing Town was arrested by officers from the Yinfeng Town Police Station when she was talking to people about Falun Gong on the morning of August 3, 2016.

9. [Beijing] Ms. Xiao Xiping Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Xiao Xiping, in her seventies, was arrested when she was talking to people about Falun Gong on the east side of the Anhui Bridge on the morning of August 2, 2016. The police confiscated her Falun Gong books. She was taken to a brainwashing center.

10. [Yingtan City, Jiangxi Province] Four Practitioners Detained

Ms. Cai Zhouyuan (40 years old), Ms. Deng Dongxiu (50), Mr. Xia Xiqing, and Ms. Hu Fengxiang (50), from Yujiang County, were arrested and detained for ten days, for suing Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese Communist Party leader who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong.

11. [Shiyan City, Hubei Province] Six Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Yang Xinlin and her daughter, Ms. Li Hongcui, Ms. Guo, Ms. Guo's daughter-in-law, and Ms. Chen Anxin were arrested by officers from the 610 Office on July 28, 2016, for suing Jiang Zemin. Ms. Chen was released due to high blood pressure.

12. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhao Chuanwen and Mr. Zhou Guangming Detained

Mr. Zhao Cuanwen and Mr. Zhou Guangming remain in the Hedong Detention Center. Ms. Liu Fenghou is also being held in the detention center.

Mr. Zhou's daughter Lingling was placed in criminal detention at the detention center.

13. [Jiuquan City, Gansu Province] Ms. Cheng Yulan Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Cheng Yulan from Dunhuang City was arrested on October 27, 2015, and tried in May 2016. She was sentenced to a one-year prison term on July 25, 2016.

14. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. He Baohua Sentenced to Prison

Ms. He Baohua was arrested by officers from the Xiangcheng County Police Department in Xuchang City on May 2, 2015, and held in the Xuchang City Detention Center for 14 months. She was subsequently sentenced to four years in prison by the Xiangcheng County Court, and taken to the Xinxiang Women's Prison on July 17, 2016.

15. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Gao Song Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Gao Song from Dadong District was sentenced to one year in prison by the Huanggu District Court on July 29, 2016. She was also extorted of 2,000 yuan.

16. [Tianshui City, Gansu Province] Ms. Cui Qiuju and Ms. Wang Xingui Detained

Ms. Cui Qiuju from Wushan County was arrested at home by officers from the Wushan County Police Department and the Shandan Township Police Station on August 1, 2016. Ms. Wang Xingui from Wushan County was arrested on the afternoon of August 3, 2016. Both are being held in the Wushan County Detention Center.

17. [Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Sun Meihua Detained

Ms. Sun Meihua from Xiushui County was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Xiushui County Police Department on the afternoon of July 23, 2016. She was detained for five days.

18. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Jijing and Mr. Li Taoyuan Taken to Brainwashing Center

Mr. Wang Jijing and Mr. Li Taoyuan, from Henan Village, Fengcheng Town, Jimo City, were arrested by officers from the Fengcheng Police Station in the early morning hours of July 28, 2016. Both practitioners are being held in the Pudong Brainwashing Center in Jimo City.

19. [Chongqing] Mr. Qu Chi Detained

Mr. Qu Chi from Yuzhong District was arrested on July 21, 2016. The police confiscated a computer, a printer, a large number of supplies, and Falun Gong books. He is being held in the Yudong Detention Center in Banan District.

20. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Niu Ben Arrested

Mr. Niu Ben, 33, was arrested by officers from the Dongpu Police Department on July 23, 2016.

21. [Shiyan City, Hubei Province] Seven Practitioners Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Guo Gangzhi (70 years old), her daughter-in-law, Ms. Xing Ling (40), Ms. Ren Zongju (74), and three other practitioners were arrested by officers from the Shiyan City 610 Office on July 28, 2016. They are being held in the Niutoushan Brainwashing Center. Ms. Ren was released on July 30 after a three day hunger strike.

22. [Chongqing] Ms. Li Zhihui Detained

Ms. Li Zhihui, in her fifties, from Yubei District, was arrested by police when she was talking to people about Falun Gong on July 21, 2016. She is being held in the Yubei Detention Center.

23. [Changde City, Hunan Province] Ms. Zhou Zelan and Ms. Li Changju Arrested

Ms. Zhou Zelan and Ms. Li Changju were arrested when they were talking to people about Falun Gong on August 1, 2016.

24. [Jiaozuo City, Henan Province] Ms. Yan Cuiping Detained

Ms. Yan Cuiping was arrested at home on July 27, 2016, for suing Jiang Zemin. She is being held in the Jiaozuo City Detention Center.

25. [Luzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Li Yulan Arrested

Ms. Li Yulan was arrested on July 22, 2016.

26. [Honghezhou, Yunnan Province] Ms. Mou Xiuqiong Detained

Ms. Mou Xiuqiong was arrested in early March 2016, and held in the Caoba Detention Center in Mengzi County in Honghezhou.

27. [Beijing] Mr. Tang Pingshun Detained

Mr. Tang Pingshun from Shaoyaoju area in the Chaoyang District was arrested by officers from the Xiaoguan Police Station on the afternoon of August 1, 2016, on his way to distribute Falun Gong informational materials. His computer, printer, and gold and silver jewelry were confiscated. He is being held in the Chaoyang Detention Center.

28. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Du Xiuhua Detained

Ms. Du Xiuhua was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Weicheng Police Department on the morning of August 2, 2016. She was held in the Weifang Detention Center.
