(Minghui.org) A 25-year-old teacher in Chifeng City was detained for nearly one month for talking to her students about Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.
Ms. Jia Xuedong was arrested on June 13 of this year, and two weeks later her mother and three aunts were also arrested for seeking her release.
While Ms. Jia was released on July 11, it is unclear if her mother and aunts remain detained at the time of writing. Her father, also a Falun Gong practitioner, is still serving five years in prison for refusing to renounce Falun Gong.
Below is what Ms. Jia told her family of what happened on the day of her arrest.
Huang Jian, Huang Yongjun, Shi Yuguo, and Li Xue from Zuoqi Domestic Security Office arrested Ms. Jia and snatched away her cell phone as she was trying to answer her mother’s phone call. They went through her phone despite her objections.
She was interrogated for two hours at the local police department before being driven to the local hospital to have her blood forcibly drawn.
The police next sent her to Zuoqi Detention Center, where two guards ordered her to remove her bra and shoes upon arrival. They scolded her when she complained about how much it hurt walking barefoot.
Deputy Director Liu Jianru ordered Ms. Jia’s hair cut short after she was taken to her cell.
Ms. Jia was initially given three days of detention, but her term was extended twice. She wasn’t released until one month later.
