Additional Persecution News from China – December 14, 2016 (20 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 18 cities or counties in 9 provinces. According to this report, 7 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 35 were illegally arrested.

1. [Linying County, Henan Province] Mr. Wang Xuecheng and Ms. Shi Chunying Sentenced

Mr. Wang Xuecheng and his wife Ms. Shi Chunying were arrested on March 15, 2016, for putting up poster boards displaying information about suing Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese dictator.

The arresting officers are from the Linying County 610 Office, Domestic Security Division and Juling Town Police Station They confiscated Falun Gong books and informational materials.

Mr. Wang was taken to the Linying Detention Center and Ms. Shi was taken to the Luohe Women's Detention Center.

They were sentenced to 10 months in prison by the Lingying Court in early November 2016.

2. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Guo Shuyan and Ms. Dong Shuzhen Arrested

Mr. Guo Shuyan and Ms. Dong Shuzhen were arrested by officers from the Fuxing Town Police Station on December 13, 2016, for distributing calendars containing information about the persecution of Falun Gong.

They were taken to Zhaoyuan County.

3. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Qu Xiumin Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Qu Xiumin was arrested by officers from the Baiqi Police Station on December 13, 2016. She was taken to the Xiaying Brainwashing Center in Shulan City.

4. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Four Practitioners Detained

Ms. Wang Shaoyu, Ms. Yang Hongyan, Ms. Wang Guiqin and Ms. Wei Hongjiu were arrested by officers from the Jiutai District Domestic Security Division and Weizigou Police Station on December 13, 2016.

They were taken to the Jiutai District Detention Center.

5. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Gao Fenglian and Ms. Zhao Kemin Arrested

Ms. Gao Fenglian and Ms. Zhao Kemin were arrested by officers from the Huachang Police Station on December 12, 2016, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.

Ms. Gao was released that evening, while Mr. Zhao was given a 10-day detention and fined 500 yuan.

6. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wang Jian Arrested

Mr. Wang Jian was arrested by officers from the Taian Railway Police Station on December 12, 2016.

7. [Laiwu City, Shandong Province] Mr. Xu Chuanli Detained

Mr. Xu Chuanli was arrested by officers from the Mazhuan Police Station on December 8, 2016. He is being held in the Beibu Detention Center.

8. [Jingmen City, Hubei Province] Ms. Liu Deyu Detained

Ms. Liu Deyu was recently arrested, and is held in the Huyaguan Detention Center.

9. [Huaihua City, Hunan Province] Ms. Huang Yuanju Detained

Ms. Huang Yuanju was arrested on December 9, 2016, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was given a 15-day detention.

10. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zhu Zhulin Arrested

Ms. Zhu Zhulin, in her 70s, was arrested on December 7, 2016, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.

11. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Yueqiu Arrested

Ms. Li Yueqiu was recently arrested for distributing calendars containing information about the persecution of Falun Gong.

12. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Cai Lianbao Detained

Mr. Cai Lianbao was given 10 days in detention after being arrested on December 12, 2016.

13. [Xishui County, Hubei Province] Mr. Qu Hongrong Detained

Mr. Qu Hongrong was arrested on October 3, 2016, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.

He was held in the Luotian County Detention Center for 10 days.

14. [Qingtongxia City, Ningxia] Ms. Wang Hongyan and Ms. Zhang Xiuying Arrested

Ms. Wang Hongyan was arrested by Wang Hao and officers from the Qingtongxia City Domestic Security Division on November 30, 2016. Police ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Gong books, and informational materials, and other personal items.

Ms. Zhang Xiuying was also arrested by officers from the Qingtongxia Domestic Security Division on the same day. Police ransacked her home and confiscated computers, Falun Gong books and informational materials, and other personal items.

Ms. Wang and Ms. Zhang were taken to the Qingtongxia Detention Center.

15. [Changde City, Hunan Province] Ms. Xiong Huizhen and Ms. Yang Zhengying Arrested

Ms. Xiong Huizhen and Ms. Yang Zhengying were arrested by Li Bo and officers from the Changde City Domestic Security Division on November 29, 2016.

The police ransacked their homes.

16. [Shifang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Rongfang Persecuted

Ms. Chen Fangfang was sentenced to three years in Longquan Prison.

Her family went to see her on November 20, 2016. She was emaciated, her fingers were swollen and she had difficulty walking. However, she was still forced to do hard labor.

17. [Beijing] Mr. Wang Youbin Detained

Mr. Wang Youbin, 66, was arrested on December 9, 2016, when he attended the trial of Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Sun Fuyi in the Shunyi District Court.

Police ransacked his home, and took him to the Nihe Detention Center in the Shunyi District.

18. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Lu Huizhen Arrested

Ms. Lu Huizhen was arrested at the Zibo City Railway Station on November 20, 2016.

Officers from the Zibo Railway Police Station confiscated her Falun Gong books, 1,300 yuan in paper currency with messages about Falun Gong written on them, and other informational materials.

She was handcuffed and held in the interrogation room overnight. The police extorted 1,000 yuan from her before releasing her on bail the following day, pending her trial.

19. [Shanghai] Fourteen Practitioners Arrested

Fourteen practitioners were arrested on December 12, 2016, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.

They are Ms. Xu Chenghua (80), Ms. He Jiaru (76), Ms. Pan Lanfang (70), an elderly couple from Changzhou (both in their 70s), Ms. He Meiyun, Ms. Shen Xiufang, Ms. Tang, Ms. Yang, Ms. Cai, Ms. Gu Yizhi, Ms. Guo Yuzhu, and Ms. Zhu Lihua and her daughter.

Ms. Guo was later released.

20. [Nongan County, Jilin Province] Mr. Jiang Kun, Mr. Chu Fengwen and Mr. Tai Hongbin Sentenced

Mr. Jiang Kun, Mr. Chu Fengwen and Mr. Tai Hongbin were arrested and taken to the Nongan County Police Department on February 12, 2016, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong.

They were detained for 10 months and deprived of family visits.

Their family members learned on November 21 that Mr. Jiang was sentenced to a three-year prison term, Mr. Chu to a three-year-and-six-month prison term, and Mr. Tai to a six-month prison term.
