(Minghui.org) Reenactments of Chinese doctors harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners and methods of torture used on illegally detained practitioners in China's prisons caught the attention of many locals and tourists alike in downtown Wellington, the capital of New Zealand.
The activity was part of an event Falun Gong practitioners held on March 28, 2015, to raise awareness of the persecution of the spiritual practice by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in China.
Passersby talk with practitioners and are given information.
People view the reenactments of torture methods and forced organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners.
Despite the inclement weather, many stopped to observe the reenactment, talk with practitioners, and ask for brochures and DVDs to learn more about the brutality of the persecution that has gone on for 15 years.
Many people told practitioners that they had been aware of the persecution and the forced organ harvesting crimes in China from practitioners' previous activities. They expressed their support for the practitioners' continued efforts.
Several people learned about Falun Gong and the persecution for the first time. They were glad to be informed of the facts and promised to tell others.
Gram, who is from New Zealand but lives in Australia, agreed with the practitioner who told him that right will triumph and that doing evil will meet with retribution sooner or later. He said he hopes that the Communist Party, the real “disaster,” will be dealt with "sooner."
Jimmy and Jenny, a couple from the Netherlands traveling in New Zealand, said they had heard of Falun Gong and about the persecution. “The CCP is foolish,” Jenny said angrily. Jimmy encouraged practitioners, “You've done a great job! We should work together to make a difference.”
Hailey, an administrator in Wellington, heard about forced organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners for the first time. She said she would find out more about the global support to end the CCP's heinous crime. She praised the motion adopted by the Australian government that forbids Australian citizens from traveling to China for organ transplants.
Ms. Diana Andrews was appalled to learn that the forced organ harvesting in China is state-sanctioned. She was glad to find out that nearly 140,000 New Zealanders had signed a petition calling for an end to the atrocities last year and that the petition has been delivered to the New Zealand parliament. She asked many questions and was grateful to practitioners for letting her know all the facts.
John, a photographer, and his students took many photos of the event. He said he was interested in taking photos of people with belief, because he hoped to find the meaning behind the belief.
A writer told practitioners that she would include the scenes she saw and the truth about Falun Gong in the book she is writing.
