(Minghui.org) Ms. Li Huixin from Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province was arrested on her way to visiting friends on March 19, 2015 and sent to Hebei Province Brainwashing Center the very next morning.
This is not the first time Ms. Li has been sent to a detention for her belief in Falun Gong, a spiritual practice being persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party.
Ms. Li is also not the only person in her family affected by the persecution. She had two sisters who also practiced Falun Gong and followed the principles of “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance” in everything they did.
Her younger sister Ms. Li Huiqi was arrested for refusing to give up her belief and later became paralyzed by torture. She passed away five years later on April 27, 2007. She was only in her 30s.
The oldest sister Ms. Li Huijie took care of the youngest sister while she remained bedridden. She also looked after Ms. Li Huixin’s young son and their 70-year-old father. The mental pressure and physical challenge of taking care of the entire family took a toll on the oldest sister's health. She fell ill in 2013 and passed away that same year.
Stricken with grief, the three sisters' father died earlier this year.
