(Minghui.org) The Xinshi District Court in Urumqi City, Xinjiang has scheduled trials against three 61-year-old Falun Gong practitioners on March 6, 2015.
Ms. Pan Xiuhua was arrested at another practitioner's home on June 28, 2014. Mr. Wang Shilian and his wife Ms. Cui Demei were arrested on the same day for raising awareness of the persecution of Falun Gong. Their arrests were approved on August 1, 2014.
Ms. Pan Divorced and Imprisoned for Her Belief
Ms. Pan, 61, has been illegally arrested several times. Her husband was forced to divorce her due to the groundless harassment, intimidation, and threats from local police officers.
Ms. Pan was arrested by officers from the Kaziwan Police Station on the afternoon of February 3, 2007, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was taken to the Liudaowan Women’s Detention Center.
Ms. Pan was sentenced to three years in prison by the Urumqi City Intermediate Court on June 18, 2007, for "inciting subversion of the state's political power." She was taken to the Xinjiang Women’s Prison in October 2007. While imprisoned, she was beaten several times. She was also brutally forced-fed when she held hunger strikes against the persecution.
Ms. Pan was sentenced to an 18-month forced labor term on November 1, 2011.
