(Minghui.org) Ms. Cai Guijiao, 61, suffered relentless torture and abuse while detained for her belief in Falun Gong for the past three years.
She was arrested on February 27, 2012 after being reported to the police while distributing informational DVDs about the persecution of Falun Gong.
During her detention, Ms. Cai was tortured. The police detained her at Huarong Detention Center for two weeks and then transferred her to Yueyang No. 1 Detention Center.
During the nine-month detention period there, she was force-fed after a hunger strike. Her teeth were broken. Five guards held her down and injected her with unknown drugs. The guards also tied her to a hard board continuously for two days.

Ms. Cai was given a three-year prison sentence on January 7, 2013. She did not give up her belief and so was tortured and denied family visitation.
At Changsha Women's Prison, Ms. Cai was sent to the brainwashing center in the 6th Ward – a place specifically set up to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Guards were trained to torture her in 26-day cycles.
In the first cycle, the guards forced her to stand every day without moving for 18 hours, from 6 a.m. to midnight. Inmates were ordered to watch her. They would stomp on her feet or knee her in the back if she moved or fell asleep.
In the second cycle, the guards continued to force her to stand, but increased the torture. They made her hold water bottles in both hands and keep a notebook between her legs. At this point, her toenails began to fall off.
Then the guards prevented her from sleeping for four days and forced her to squat military style for nine days.
She eventually gave in and wrote statements renouncing her belief.
She was then transferred to the 2nd Ward and subjected to forced labor. When she expressed regret for writing the renouncement statements, she was verbally abused and beaten by the guards.
Ms. Cai was released on February 27, 2015. Upon returning home, she learned that her government pension in the past three years had been withheld. When she appealed, the government refunded three months worth of her pension.
