(Minghui.org) I am a schoolteacher. I have been arrested several times for practicing Falun Gong, a cultivation system that teaches Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and for some time I was not allowed to teach. But the school officials had a change of heart and called me back.
I was assigned to teach art when I returned, a subject that I was not trained in, to about eight classes. Instead of being discouraged, I realized that this assignment would give me an opportunity to tell the students about Falun Dafa.
My efforts bore fruit, and students in a lower grade quit the Young Pioneers, a Chinese Communist Party (CCP) affiliate. One little girl came up and thanked me.
I sometimes asked them hypothetical questions to help them understand right from wrong. I asked them if it was better to be truthful or deceitful, if it was more helpful to be compassionate or mean, and if people benefited more from being tolerant or confrontational. They showed that they understood the right thing to do every time.
When the exercise was over, I asked them to recite “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” in their hearts ten times. They sat up straight, closed their eyes, and concentrated. The entire classroom was filled with a sense of harmony.
Students in higher grades already have their own notions about things. They were brought up in a communist environment, so their minds are more poisoned. When we met for the first time, I asked the class if they believed in gods. Only about three students raised their hands. That motivated me to tell them myths and legends about gods to try to awaken their compassion. At the next class, more than ten students raised their hands when I asked the same question. The number increased in each subsequent class, and some days later everyone in the entire class raised their hands.
I told my students that gods watch people's every thought and action, and I asked them to live by the principles Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. This entire class quit the Young Pioneers too.
Another approach is using a third person. That way students find it easier to accept it when I ask them to quit the CCP.
For example, I spoke of an elderly lady I met at the grocery store. She felt that she could talk to me because I looked like a kind person. She told me that many people today lie, do wicked things, and fight, and that the CCP is leading people away from goodness.
She asked me if I had ever joined the CCP, and I told her that I had only joined the Youth League and the Young Pioneers. She advised me to quit them for my own good. She didn't want me to get caught in the downfall of the CCP. When I told her that I was a schoolteacher, she asked me to help my students to quit. She hoped that they would not be dragged down when the CCP falls.
I observed my students and brought up societal problems that I heard on the news. I spoke about counterfeit goods, tainted milk powder, fake medicine, false propaganda, and corrupt officials. It was important that they also heard about the “Tiananmen Massacre,” where the CCP ordered army soldiers to run over college students with tanks.
I shared other newsworthy events and ended with more positive ones that spoke of people who survived disaster because they believed in Buddhas and Taos. Hearing stories like these helped convince all of the students to quit the Young Pioneers.
Of course, there were times when I kept quiet out of fear because some students' parents were government officials, or because of my poor cultivation state. I regretted when that happened. I am now determined to change, to study the Falun Dafa books more, and to talk to people where I work about Falun Dafa wholeheartedly.
