(Minghui.org) I would like to share my thoughts on the recent Minghui article “Should Practitioners Not Mention Anything Negative about Themselves?” I agree with the author that it is a misunderstanding of the Fa that mentioning anything negative about ourselves would invite persecution by the old forces.
The key of the misunderstanding in my view is that these practitioners think that they will be persecuted if they admit they are not cultivating well. Therefore, they don't mention anything negative about themselves in order to avoid persecution.
This common misunderstanding leads to a climate of complacency. In such an environment, even though we say “look inward,” we might apply it to others only. Complacency still exists deep inside.
If we calm down and compare our thoughts with the Fa, we will know better. In fact, the Fa never says that we will be persecuted if we admit anything wrong about ourselves. On the contrary, dodging our weaknesses may lead to problems, because such an attachment may be a prelude to breeding demons in our own mind.
I think realizing where we fall short reflects diligence in cultivation. Why should we allow fear of persecution to hinder our progress? As cultivators, we should never be complacent, no matter how much we have done to validate the Fa.
As Master put it, “... prior to Consummation you are nobody.” (“20th Anniversary Fa Teaching”)
I have come across some confused and strange theories among fellow practitioners. Such theories negatively impact their righteous thoughts. Most of the theories come from sharing articles on the Internet.
I personally think that some sharing articles on the PureInsight website haven't been checked very carefully and could mislead some practitioners.
I don't say this to assign blame, but to suggest that the editors review the content more carefully. It would serve us better to have fewer well-selected articles than to have many articles, with some of them being problematic.
I would also like to remind fellow practitioners that sharing articles are written from the individual practitioners' points of view. We Dafa practitioners have to rationally measure them against the Fa. We can learn from sharing articles, but we cannot follow other practitioners; we should follow the Fa.
The above is my limited understanding. Please kindly point out anything inappropriate.
