(Minghui.org) When I told people about Falun Dafa and the Chinese communist regime's persecution of the practice, many expressed kind words about Dafa. Their stance is especially meaningful as hundreds of thousands of practitioners in China are being tortured in detention centers, prisons, and brainwashing centers for refusing to give up their belief.
I sat by two passengers chatting on a coach bus in April 2014. The man was in his 40s, and the lady was around 60.
When they found out I was a Falun Gong practitioner, the lady asked, “Do you know what happened to the lawyer Gao Zhisheng? Has he been released? I heard his health is not good.” I replied that I did not know the specifics of his current condition.
Gao's case gained international attention when he was imprisoned and tortured by the communist regime for defending Falun Gong practitioners.
“I met lawyer Gao once. He is outstanding. His work unit was disbanded by the Party,” said the lady.
“We know Falun Gong very well. I've helped Falun Gong practitioners secretly. I have sympathy for you. There are many highly educated people among the practitioners. We know many practitioners are being tortured,” said the man.
“I was tortured too. I was hung up, injected with toxic drugs, and stripped when I was imprisoned,” I said.
“What you suffered is the not the worst. Some suffered more torture. Don't worry. Now the whole world is speaking out for you. The reputation of Falun Gong will be restored sooner or later. You should protect yourself. You need to speak out in the future,” said the man.
I bought something at a market stall in January 2014. I asked the vendor and his friends, “Have you heard about the movement to withdrawal from the Communist Party?” The vendor answered, “I knew it a long time ago. We've all quit.” “You made the right choice. Good luck!” I said.
I distributed Shen Yun DVDs in the market. I noticed that I left a bag of around 30 DVDs in that stall after I finished giving out the ones in my backpack. I quickly returned to the stall and asked the vendor if he saw my bag. “Here you are,” said the vendor while handing it to me.
“Can you give me a DVD?” asked the vendor in the neighboring stall. It seemed they had opened the bag and looked at the contents. “Sure!” I said. Hearing my quick affirmation, he said, “Please give me two. I admire Master Li very much!” (Master Li Hongzhi is the founder of Falun Gong.)
I spoke to some migrant construction workers in February 2014. A foreman asked me, “Do you have Falun Dafa amulets? The kind you can hang in a car?” I gave him a few. Another worker also asked for one.
While giving out the amulets, I said, “These carry the words 'Falun Dafa is good!'” The foreman looked at the one in his hands and said, “I don't want an amulet without the words 'Falun Dafa is good!'”
I once spoke to a woman on a bus. She yelled right away, “You are a Falun Gong practitioner! You are against the Party! There is no new China without the Communist Party!” Apparently, she had been misled by the Party's propaganda.
I calmly explained how during the Japanese invasion during World War II, the Communist Party built up its force to prepare for the civil war instead of defending the country as it had claimed when taking power. The lady murmured, “I don't know much. You are educated,” kept repeating the party line, and moved to another seat.
A middle-aged man who was standing took the seat and told me to continue talking.
A young lady near the front door said, “Falun Dafa is good!” The bus driver yelled out, “Only without the Communist Party can there be a new China!”
In China's hostile environment where the regime brutally persecutes Falun Gong, these people dare to say kind words about the practice. It is precious. I hope more people will be awakened like them.
