(Minghui.org) A woman from Macheng, Hubei was reading at home in August 2014, when several police officers deceived her into opening the door, which led to her arrest. Her only “crime” was practicing Falun Gong, a self-cultivation practice currently being persecuted in China.
The illegal arrest and subsequent wrongful detention led to a relapse of her heart condition. She fainted multiple times, but the police refused to release her on medical parole.
Arrested for Telling People How Falun Gong Helped Her Regain Health
Ms. Tian Yinhua is from Wanjiayan Village, Macheng City. She suffered from poor health since childhood, and the first four decades of her life were spent fighting various kinds of diseases, including a serious heart condition.
Her symptoms worsened after the birth of her two children. She was anable to do any household chores or care for her children. She had to watch as her husband worked full-time and looked after everyone in the family. She felt useless to her family.
All of this changed after she began practicing Falun Gong. The illnesses that had plagued her for years went away. The 57-year-old woman credits Falun Gong with giving her a new life and helping her become a better person.
Ms. Tian decided to tell others about the goodness of Falun Gong, having benefited from it so much. However, for such a simple act, she was arrested several times, with the latest coming in the past month.
She was illegally arrested at her home on the afternoon of August 20, 2014. Police confiscated many personal items and 4,400 yuan in cash from her home. Ms. Tian was taken to Macheng City Detention Center. Moreover, the abuse at the detention center caused a relapse of her heart condition. She fainted multiple times, including once in the bathroom.
Her family requested medical parole, which was refused by the police without explanation.
Police broke into her home through a neighbor's balcony in 2007. They took Ms. Tian to a police station and viciously beat her before taking her to a detention center. At another time, she was arrested while putting up “Falun Dafa is Good” posters on utility poles.
Renewed Life Through Practicing Falun Gong
Ms. Tian was frail even as a child. The slightest thing would cause severe headaches, vomiting, accelerated heart rate, and even incapacitating her altogether. After she gave birth to two children, she was so weak that she couldn't prepare meals or do laundry for her family, let alone go to work. Even though she took medication day after day, her health never improved.
Her husband, a bus driver, supported the entire family. The financial burden of medical costs, along with years of pain and suffering, led her to develop a bad temper.
Ms. Tian started practicing Falun Gong in 1997, and has not needed any medication since. She took over the household chores, and looks after her children. When her husband lost his job and had to go to another city looking for work, Ms. Tian took care of everything at home, including supporting her two children through college. She even helped her parents and in-laws with farm work from time to time.
Ms. Tian's health was restored due to practicing Falun Gong, and she became more considerate of others. She follows the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in her daily life.
She was once hit by a van while riding her bicycle. Her bicycle was trapped under the van, and she landed next to the van. The driver was visibly trembling as he came to see if she was OK. Ms. Tian got up and smiled at the driver, “Don't be afraid, I am okay. You didn't hit me on purpose, and I will not extort money from you.”
She told the driver, “I am a Falun Gong practitioner. My master protected me from harm, and protected you from losing money. Please remember Falun Dafa is good. Drive carefully and be safe.”
The driver was moved to tears, as Ms. Tian truly didn't take any money from him. She had her bicycle repaired using her own money. Bystanders praised her, “Only a Falun Gong practitioner would do something like that.”
