Additional Persecution News from China – November 5, 2014 (16 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 12 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 14 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province] Five Practitioners Receive Heavy Sentences

Mr. Li Hua, Mr. Zeng Chaohua, Ms. Kou Qiaoyun, Mr. Jin Rong, and Ms. Wang Juanxiu, a total of five practitioners, were sentenced in Lianhu District Court at noon on September 3, 2014. Their feet were all shackled. Mr. Zeng was also handcuffed.

Mr. Li was sentenced to nine years in prison. Mr. Zeng to seven years, and Ms. Kou to five years. Mr. Jin and Ms. Wang were each sentenced to four years in prison.

2. [Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Chen Yingyi Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Chen Yingyi was arrested on May 12, 2014. She was sentenced to four years and two months in prison on September 3.

3. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Gao Yumin in Critical Condition

Ms. Gao Yumin has been on a hunger strike for 30 days. The Xinkang Hospital of the Xincheng Prison issued her family a notice indicating that she was in critical condition. The prison still refuses to release her.

4. [Jing County, Hebei Province] Ms. Sun Suying and Her Husband Mr. Liu Xiwei Face Trial

The Jing County Court is planning to put Mr. Liu Xiwei and his wife, Ms. Sun Suying, on trial on November 11, 2014.

5. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Ding Shuhui and Other Practitioners Arrested

The police arrested Ms. Ding Shuhui and another elderly practitioner, over 60, on the afternoon of November 3, 2014.

At the same time, officers from the Acheng District Domestic Security Division arrested Ms. Yu Caihua, her husband, and her father-in-law, who is in his seventies. The officers searched her home and took a printer and Falun Gong materials, among other items.

6. [Tieling City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Qingxiang Arrested

Ms. Liu Qingxiang from the Qinghe District was arrested on the evening of November 1, 2014, by Wang Xingjun and other police officers, and taken to the Hongqi Police Station, for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong.

The police ransacked her home and took a computer. Ms. Liu was taken to the Tieling Detention Center for 15 days of detention.

7. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhou Yirong Detained

Ms. Zhou Yirong was arrested by officers from the Dadukou District Domestic Security Division in late September 2014, for telling people the facts about Falun Gong. She is being held in the Dadukou District Detention Center.

8. [Nanyang City, Henan Province] Mr. Wang Yanpei's Home Ransacked

Hou Jincai and other police officers searched Mr. Wang Yanpei's home on the morning of November 3, 2014. They took Falun Gong informational materials.

9. [Xinxiang City, Henan Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Five practitioners were arrested on the morning of November 3, 2014, including Ms. Wang Fengyun, Ms. Lang Gaiqin, Ms. Jiao Qiufang, Mr. Guo Tianping, and an elderly practitioner, Zheng from Sichuan. Their homes were ransacked.

10. [Jinyun County, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Mei Yuping Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Mei Yuping from Dongfang Town was arrested and taken to a brainwashing center on October 28, 2014.

It was reported that ten other practitioners were arrested and taken to the brainwashing center.

11. [Bazhong City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Peng Huaying Detained

Ms. Peng Huaying from the Bazhou District was arrested at the Chengdu Train Station on the evening of November 1, 2014, for telling people the facts about Falun Gong. She was taken to the Bazhong Detention Center the next morning.

12. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhao Yongcai Faces Trial

Mr. Zhao Yongcai was arrested in early July 2014. After 15 days of detention he was transferred to a detention center. He was subsequently prosecuted by the Procuratorate. His lawyer received notice from the court that a trial was scheduled for November 6, 2014.

13. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Jiang Ping Arrested

Ms. Jiang Ping took a flight from Wuhan to Xinjiang to visit relatives in late October 2014. She was arrested after getting off the plane. Her whereabouts are unknown.

14. [Chongqing] Mr. Ren Dongchuan Arrested

Mr. Ren Dongchuan from the Jiulongpo District, Xipeng Town went out on errands on November 3, 2014, and never returned. The police later told his family that Mr. Ren was being held in the police station.

15. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yu Jingtao Detained for Close to 30 Days

Ms. Yu Jingtao was arrested on the afternoon of October 6, 2014, and taken to the Rushan Detention Center, for posting stickers with information about Falun Gong. The police searched her home and took a printer, a cell phone, and other items. Afterwards the police searched her workplace. Ms. Yu has been held in the detention center for close to 30 days.

16. [Da'an City, Jilin Province] Mr. Yu Dong Persecuted by 610 Office

Mr. Yu Dong was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division on October 16, 2014. He was beaten and taken to a detention center.

Li Junhong, 610 Office head, and police officer Sui Yanlong abused and brainwashed Mr. Yu for nearly a week. Mr. Yu developed symptoms of convulsions and a heart attack, after which he was released and allowed to return home.
