(Minghui.org) Ms. Li Cuiling, a Falun Gong practitioner from Wumahe District, Yichun City, was illegally arrested on September 17, 2014, for accompanying a disabled practitioner to submit an appeal for justice in Harbin City. The disabled practitioner, Mr. Wang Xinchun, lost his feet due to police abuse.
Ms. Li was taken to the Nangang Police Station and then transferred to the Harbin No. 2 Detention Center. She was taken to the Traffic Police Division of the Wumahe District Police Department on September 19. Officers Li Linqiang and Li Xiaokui confiscated her personal belongings, including 7,000 yuan, a cellphone, and an MP4 player. The police interrogated her the entire night.
Ms. Li escaped after being taken to the police hospital for a physical exam, a routine procedure before imprisonment.
Police added her name to the wanted list, and offered a 10,000 yuan reward.
Several officers moved into her home and harassed her family, including her in-laws who lived with them. Her father-in-law is a retired officer. He is angry and scared, and is bedridden because of the incident.
This is not the first time Ms. Li has been persecuted. She was imprisoned at the Yichun Brainwashing Center in 2012 where she was tortured. Her rib was cracked there and her hands were almost crippled.
